Take action against officials involved in extortion from sacrificial animal traders: Home Secretary Sindh

Karachi, September 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): Dr. Niaz Ali Abassi Secretary Home Department Sindh has directed the Commissioner Karachi and Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi to immediately establish complaint cell to redress complains from general public specially from sacrificial animal traders regarding extortion and bribery from the police officials and also adopt necessary security measures for the Cattle Mandi setup at Super Highway Karachi and surrounding areas.

Taking serious notice of complains regarding extortion as well as poor security measures adopted in the Cattle Mandi Super Highway Karachi, the Home Secretary said that fool proof measures should be adopted and ensure that public and sacrificial animal traders should not be harassed by the police officials and the criminals should be arrested on priority basis.

The Home Secretary also directed the police officers that concrete steps should be adopted to ensure effective security and all possible facilities to the general public as well as to the sacrificial animal traders.

He further said action should also be taken against the police officials involved in extortion and bribery.
In addition the general public as well as sacrificial animal traders have been advised to lodge their complains through SMS at already functioning crime monitoring cell helpline of Home Department numbers 0304-0213820-821 and through email on email address crimeschd@gmail.com.
