Ten trucks of relief goods sent to Sindh
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has dispatched 10 trucks of relief goods for the Sindh flood affectees here on Tuesday. The relief goods have been given by the Ameer Begum Welfare Trust. Ms Rubbina Wattoo, Chairperson of Trust and MPA PPP and Ms Jahan Arah were also present on the occasion. The Trust would establish relief camp in Hyderabad.
The Federal Minister said that Ameer Begum Welfare Trust would establish a relief camp in Hyderabad in the flood affected areas and would initially provide shelter, bedding, food, medicine, lodging and other necessities of life for the 100 families. These relief goods are the first instalment for the affectees, the Minister added.
Talking to media, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said that recent torrential rains and floods have devastated 8 districts of Sindh and it is time for all of us to stand side by side with our affected brothers and sisters and help them. We should work with unity to cope with the floods and to defeat dengue as well, the Minister said.
“I really appreciate the efforts done by Ameer Begum Welfare Trust chairperson and Ms Jahan Ara for the help of flood affected people”, the Minister added.
Answering to a question, Wattoo said that PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani chaired National Health Conference on Dengue at a right time and federal government would do its best to defeat Dengue also.
