Three Oil Shipments Expected to Boost Karachi’s Fuel Supply Amid Rising Global Prices

Karachi: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today to address the country's energy supply concerns amid climbing global oil prices.

According to Radio Pakistan, the officials deliberated on emergency fuel conservation strategies and ensuring the availability of petroleum products nationwide. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized that maintaining the momentum of the national economy is a government priority.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted the federal government's vigilant monitoring of global energy markets and the formulation of alternative strategies to mitigate the financial repercussions of escalating oil prices. He warned that the national oil import bill could surge by approximately 600 million dollars monthly if the upward trend in prices persists.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced the anticipated arrival of three oil shipments in Pakistan the following day. He also revealed plans to establish a joint dashboard with provincial authorities to oversee fuel reserves and prevent hoarding at petrol stations. The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen coordination between federal and provincial entities to curb hoarding and manage the dynamic energy situation effectively.
