Torture on teachers sparks protests in Bandipora
Srinagar, January 02, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, protests erupted in Hajin area of Bandipora district, today, against the beating up of two teachers by Indian troops inside a tuition centre. The troops barged into a government-run coaching centre and thrashed two teachers in the area.
“We were busy teaching when army men without any provocation barged inside and started abusing and beating us. Even the in-charge headmaster was also beaten,” said a teacher, wishing anonymity. As the news spread, locals staged a protest against the Indian army and observed a spontaneous shutdown.
