UN Chief calls for water management at global level

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has stressed the need for water management at global level.

He was talking to a panel of eleven countries that presented him a global water crisis report titled “Making Every Drop Count: An Agenda for Water Action,” in New York.

The report says over a third of the world’s population is affected by water scarcity, calling for a fundamental shift in the way the world manages water so that Sustainable Development Goals for 2015-30 can be achieved.

The Secretary General said the UN system and all member states should take the issue very seriously and make sure that their proposals are effectively implemented.
