UN resolutions best solution of Kashmir dispute: Shabbir Shah
Srinagar, December 21, 2012 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian police again arrested senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Shabbir Ahmad Shah and other Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Javed Ahmad Mir and Raja Waseem Lone to prevent them from addressing a big public gathering at Arihal in Pulwama.
Before the arrest, Shabbir Ahmad Shah talking to media persons said that Kashmir was not a territorial dispute between Pakistan and India that could be resolved through bilateral talks but was the issue of political future of the Kashmiri people. He said that the dispute could be settled through the UN resolutions in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
He deplored that India did not fulfil its promises made with the people of Kashmir despite the passage of over six decades. He said that India was using every tactic to suppress the ongoing liberation movement but would never succeed as Kashmiris had pledged to take the liberation movement to its logical conclusion at all costs.
Praising the government and people of Pakistan, the APHC leader said that Pakistan and its people had always morally, politically and diplomatically supported the Kashmir liberation movement and expressed the hope that they in future would also continue their support.
He said that the blood of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and the day was not far away when the oppressed and depressed people of Kashmir would get rid of Indian bondage.
