Vietnamese Ambassador Advocates Stronger Trade Ties with Pakistan During Visit to Sialkot Chamber

Sialkot, The Ambassador of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Tien Phong, met with Sialkot’s business leaders at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to discuss enhancing bilateral trade relations. Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Malik, President of the SCCI, alongside executive committee members, hosted the Ambassador and emphasized the potential for growth between the two countries through various strategic trade initiatives.

According to Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), President Abdul Ghafoor Malik proposed several measures to bolster trade between Pakistan and Vietnam. These include the signing of a Free Trade Agreement, exchange of trade delegations, and organizing single-country exhibitions. He also suggested facilitating long-term visas based on the SCCI’s guarantee letter, enhancing cooperation on e-commerce platforms, and promoting joint ventures in digital technology.

Responding to the proposals, Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong showed appreciation for the hospitality and engaged with the queries of the Sialkot business community. He recognized the quality of Sialkot-manufactured products and their potential in the Vietnamese market, advocating for increased collaboration between the two business communities. Mr. Phong stressed the need for Pakistani and Vietnamese businesses to understand investment regulations in each country’s promising sectors. Furthermore, he extended an invitation to a 20-member Pakistani trade delegation to visit Vietnam, aiming to explore and expand bilateral trade avenues. The Ambassador assured that the Embassy of Vietnam would provide comprehensive support and cooperation to enhance the trade relationship.
