Karachi: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of former Pakistani cricketer and former selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Muhammad Ilyas. According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family in separate messages and prayed for the departed soul. President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that Muhammad Ilyas's contributions to cricket will always be remembered. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that Muhammad Ilyas was an exceptional cricketer who brought pride to Pakistan on the global stage through his game.
