In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC has appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council and other organizations to play a dynamic role in release of Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in different hell-like jails of India and the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that most of the detainees had developed various ailments, threatening their life if gone untreated, due to unavailability of basic facilities including medical care and hygienic food in jails.
He also urged the Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Committee of Red Cross and other human rights to play their effective role to stop Indian brutalities in Indian illegally occupied territory.
Scores of people including men, women and children staged an anti-India protest demonstration in Pattan area of Baramulla district against the installation of very fast-running electricity meters.
Meanwhile, in Washington, the Chairman of World Forum for Peace and Justice, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, in a statement in connection with International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness, on Sunday, said that celebrating the day offers no hope to Kashmiris.
He said India continues to create convenient excuses to ignore the Kashmiri people’s demand for self-determination, which has also led to two full-fledged wars between India and Pakistan.
