Rawalpindi: The thirty-fifth death anniversary of renowned Pakistani music director A. Hameed was observed on Wednesday. His real name was Sheikh Abdul Hameed, and he was born in Amritsar in 1924. He began his career as a pianist before migrating to Pakistan. According to Radio Pakistan, Sheikh Abdul Hameed composed music for several successful films including Anjaam, Saheli, Bharosa, and Aulad. His contributions to the film industry were recognized when he received the Nigar Award for Best Music Director for the film Dosti in 1971. Sheikh Abdul Hameed passed away in Rawalpindi on this day in 1991.
