Karachi: The 23rd death anniversary of renowned short story writer and playwright Hameed Kashmiri was observed today. Hameed Kashmiri, whose real name was Abdul Hameed, was born on June 1, 1929, in Murree. He was a prolific writer, contributing an extensive collection of short stories, more than fifteen novels, and over 50 individual plays. According to Radio Pakistan, Hameed Kashmiri also made significant contributions to radio, with his notable radio play "Emergency Ward" spanning 16 episodes. His literary works have left an indelible mark on the world of storytelling and drama. Hameed Kashmiri passed away on this day in 2003 in Karachi, leaving behind a rich legacy of literary works that continue to inspire writers and playwrights.
