Lahore, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the teams of Punjab Highway Patrol should perform their duties diligently in the spirit of Jihad and service to humanity to prevent highway crime by effective patrolling in their beat areas. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that along with prevention of crimes, measures should be continued on a priority basis to help and guide citizens and reduce rate of accidents by strict compliance of the traffic rules.
IG Punjab said that PHP is the representative force of Punjab Police on the central and inter-district roads of the province, which keeps itself active to protect the life and property of citizens, prevent accidents and ensure smooth flow of traffic. PHP police also diligently performs duties as first responder force in beat areas. He expressed these views while encouraging PHP officers and personnel with awards for their excellent performance in the Central Police Office.
According to the details, IG Punjab gave cash prizes along with certificates of appreciation to 56 PHP employees who performed their best duties. Among the recipients of the prizes were 15 sub-inspectors, 14 ASIs, 11 heads Constables and 16 constables Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Rawalpindi regions and they were awarded 10,000 each and certificates of appreciation.
IG Punjab instructed the officers and jawans who received the awards to perform their duties with more hard work and diligence. In the ceremony, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Establishment Dr. Inam Waheed, AIG Admin. Amara Athar and AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah and other officers were also present.
Moreover, a special ceremony was organized for the Christian employees of Punjab Police at the Central Police Office in connection with the Easter festival, in which IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar cut a cake with the Christian employees and paid tribute to their services. IG Punjab.
He further said that Punjab Police highly values the services and sacrifices of Christian citizens and Christian employees serving in Punjab Police are a valuable asset of the department. IG Punjab said that Christian citizens have played a very important role in the construction and development of Pakistani society and their services especially in education, health and Defense and other sectors are commendable.
IG Punjab said that on the occasion of Easter, the Punjab Police ensured fool proof security arrangements at Christian places of worship and entertainment places across the province, due to which Christian citizens celebrated their religious festival in a peaceful environment. IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police will continue to take measures on a priority basis for the welfare of its Christian employees. The Christian employees thanked IG Punjab for organizing a special event. DIG establishment Dr Inaam Waheed and AIG Admin and security Amara Athar along with other officers were also present on this occasion.
