Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized the necessity for a unified Arab and Islamic stance and a collaborative effort to halt unprecedented Israeli measures in Jerusalem, particularly concerning the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, during a meeting at Al-Husseiniya Palace with members of the Arab Ministerial Committee, tasked with international action against illegal Israeli policies in occupied Jerusalem, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's commitment to its historical and legal role in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem under the Hashemite custodianship.

The delegation included foreign ministers from Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Palestine, Egypt, and Morocco, along with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. Additionally, foreign ministers and representatives from Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia were present.

In the presence of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan, the King highlighted the risk of exploiting regional unrest to impose a new reality in the holy city. He pointed out the potential for the conflict to escalate due to continued Israeli actions in the West Bank, including land annexation and settlement expansion.

The meeting, also attended by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King's chief advisor for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, underscored the importance of adhering to all phases of the comprehensive peace plan in the Gaza Strip.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, along with the Director of the King's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, were also in attendance.
