Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring free and transparent elections in the country.
Speaking to the media in Multan during inauguration of the 24-hour transmission of PTV Multan Center today [Wednesday], he emphasized that media is free, providing equal coverage to all political parties on state media.
He stated that PTV Multan Center should serve as the voice of the people, addressing the longstanding issues of the region. He expressed that the center would broadcast regional, cultural, musical, literary, and educational programs during its continuous 24-hour transmission.
Recalling his tenure as Director General of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, the Minister mentioned launching Saraiki News Bulletins at the regional level from Radio Pakistan, Islamabad. He noted that Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani read the first Saraiki news bulletin.
Highlighting the global reach of PTV transmission, Murtaza Solangi mentioned that it is accessible in fifty countries through terrestrial and cable networks in the country.
