Naveed Qamar elected President of Parliamentarians for Global Action

Minister for Commerce and Investments Syed Naveed Qamar has been elected President of Parliamentarians for Global Action, in the election held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He gained an overwhelming majority of over 90 percent votes against his rival Dip. Margarita Stobilzer, a very senior member of parliament of the host county.

Naveed Qamar is the first Pakistani Member of Parliament who is elected as president of Parliamentarians for Global Action for a two years term from 2023 to 2024.

On the occasion, Naveed Qamar pledged to mobilize parliamentarians to promote peace, democracy, rule of law, human rights, gender equality, climate and population issues.

Parliamentarians for Global Action is a non-profit and non-partisan international network of approximately 1,300 legislators in over 140 elected parliaments around the globe.

It contributes to creating an enabling environment for positive changes, especially through activities that facilitate connections between civil society and parliamentarians, as well as building bridges between domestic and international policy-makers.
