PM urges overseas to invest in industrial sector to make Pakistan economically strong

Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the overseas community to invest in Pakistan’s industrial sector to make the country economically strong.

Addressing the overseas convention in Islamabad today, he reiterated government’s commitment to facilitate overseas community and pave way for their participation in national politics. He said overseas community is precious asset of the country, and state acknowledges their services for the progress and development of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister announced to give five-year tax holiday for overseas investors, who will make joint ventures in industrial sector of the country. He also directed Pakistan’s missions abroad to take all possible steps to facilitate the overseas community.

Counting government’s efforts for making country prosperous and a welfare state on the pattern of Riasat-e-Madina, he challenged that no government can deliver to this level under prevailing challenges like shrinking economies in post Covid era.

Talking about corruption committed by previous rulers, the Prime Minister said people of Pakistan will never forgive them and government will hold across-the-board accountability of all corrupt elements at all costs.

Imran Khan expressed regret that previous rulers sacrificed national interest over their personal gains and never took action against to stop drone attacks in Pakistan.

On foreign front, the Prime Minister reaffirmed government’s desire to establish good friendly relations with all neighbouring countries. He expressed hope that the United Nations General Assembly will pass a resolution against rising incidents of Islamophobia in view of Pakistan’s efforts.

On Kashmir issue, the Prime Minister said the government will continue its efforts to highlight Kashmir issue at all national fora. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to provide all out support to Kashmiris in achieving their Right to Self Determination.

About terrorism, the Prime Minister said Pakistan’s armed forces are playing vital role in eliminating terrorism and promoting peace in the country. He said Pakistan incurred huge human and infrastructure loss in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, in his remarks, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain reiterated government’s resolve to safeguard rights of overseas Pakistanis

He expressed the confidence that opposition’s move against Prime Minister Imran Khan will not succeed as nation has full confidence in his dynamic leadership.

The Minister for Information said the Prime Minister is a symbol of pride for Pakistan, who always struggled for national interest, contrary to the opposition’s leaders who put the country in crisis to save their personal interests.

Acknowledging the role of overseas Pakistanis for development of the country, he warned that Pakistan may become bankrupt without active role of the overseas.
