Resolution of J&K dispute, peace in Afghanistan, climate change priorities of Pakistan: Munir

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram says Islamabad’s key priorities are resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, peace in Afghanistan, development issues and climate change.

He was talking to a visiting 15-member Pakistani National Defence University delegation in New York, which comprised of senior officers from Pakistan’s Armed Forces and Civil Service, including allied officers from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Saudi Arabia.

Munir Akram also highlighted Pakistan’s key initiatives and achievements, especially in the area of counter-terrorism, UN peacekeeping, UN reforms, Islamophobia.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue pursuing the resolution of Kashmir dispute under the auspices of the UN Security Council resolutions.

He said Pakistan has always been active at the United Nations and last year Pakistan was President of Economic and Social Council of the world body and this year it is chairing Group of 77 and China.
