US informs Islamabad about its position on Russia-Ukraine standoff

The US State Department has said that Washington has informed Islamabad about its position on the Russia-Ukraine standoff.

During a press briefing in Washington over the Russia-Ukraine standoff, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said the Washington has briefed Pakistan on efforts made by Washington to pursue diplomacy over war in Ukraine.

He said the US government is surely aware of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Russia.

The Spokesperson said that the United States will be willing to engage in diplomacy with Moscow, if it shows de-escalation on Ukraine.

Ned Price said that his county believes that it is the responsibility of every responsible country around the world to voice concern, to voice objection to what Russian President appears to have in mind for Ukraine.

Talking about Pakistan-US relations, the spokesperson stressed that the two countries have a long-standing partnership and strategic cooperation in different fields.

PM visits Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Moscow

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to pay tribute to the Soviet soldiers killed during World War II.

The Prime Minister, who is on a two-day official visit to Russia, laid floral wreath at the monument in Moscow.

Members of the Prime Minister’s delegation were also present on the occasion.
