Farrukh slams Bilawal for misusing Sindh govt’s resources for long march

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has slammed Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for using the Sindh government’s machinery and resources to hold a long march for political gains.

Sharing some pictures on tweet, he said, preparations are being made for the march by using the Sindh government’s machinery and resources to save the looted wealth.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in his video message on the occasion of third anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, said the nation is united and ready to give a befitting response to any aggression.

Pakistan reiterates resolve to safeguard sovereignty, territorial integrity at all costs

Pakistan has reiterated the resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.

The resolve was expressed by Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad in a statement on the occasion of third anniversary of Pakistan’s exemplary response to India’s ill-conceived military airstrikes inside its territorial airspace.

The spokesman said Pakistan is a proponent for regional peace and stability but at the same time, its desire for peace is accompanied by strong resolve and capability for self-defence.

He said India, in utter violation of the United Nations Charter and International Law, violated Pakistani airspace on 26 February 2019 and conducted airstrikes inside Pakistani territory.

He said botched attempt at infringing Pakistan’s sovereignty was swiftly riposted by our valiant armed forces.

Not only did Pakistan resolutely safeguarded its sovereignty; it also displayed utmost restraint.

The spokesperson said again on February 27, 2019, two Indian aircraft transgressed the Pakistani airspace.

These two aircraft were shot down by Pakistan Air Force jets.

The captured pilot of one of the downed aircraft was later returned to India as a goodwill gesture.

He said 27th February also serves as a lesson for India that none of its militarism and war- mongering jingoism will go without a befitting response.

Pakistan’s Embassy in Ukraine engages in supporting and evacuating Pakistani students

Pakistan’s Embassy in Ukraine is engaged in supporting and evacuating Pakistani students in every possible way.

According to the latest fact sheet provided by Pakistan’s Embassy in Ukraine, the majority of the 3,000 Pakistani students have already left Ukraine while the evacuation of the remaining six to seven hundred students is underway.

Evacuation locations and focal persons have been identified in Ternopil, Kyiv and Lviv. Pakistani Ambassador in Ukraine Retired Major General Noel Israel Khokhar contacted the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for the safe evacuation of Pakistani citizens.

The Pakistani embassy has requested a meeting with the border commander on the Ukrainian-Polish frontier and also highlighted the issue of evacuation of Pakistanis stranded on the border.

WAPDA begins working on five dams-cum-hydropower projects

The WAPDA has started working on five dams-cum-hydropower projects besides building two mega dams, Mohmand and Diamer Basha to meet the country’s growing water needs.

The Wapda sources told APP that the under construction hydropower projects included Dasu, Keyal Khwar, Kurram Tangi, Warsak power and Mangla rehabilitation initiatives.

Similarly, currently scores of hydropower projects are under operation of WAPDA which are providing thousands of megawatt cheap hydel electricity to the national grid. Main projects which are under operation include Kurram Garhi Hydropower, Chitral Hydropower, Dubar Khwar, Golen Gol, Tarbela, Tarbela 4th Extension, Mangla, Neelum Jhelum and Ghazi Barotha.
