FM Bilawal holds bilateral meeting with Tajik counterpart

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also held a bilateral meeting with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Tashkent.

Talking to him, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Islamabad’s resolve to further enhance bilateral trade, promote regional connectivity and strengthen people-to-people links between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

The Foreign Minister emphasised on reinvigorating bilateral economic relations by boosting trade and investment through cooperation in diverse areas and frequent exchange of business delegations.

On the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Tashkent, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also held bilateral meetings with his Uzbek and Kyrgyz counterparts.

During these meetings, views were exchanged on deepening bilateral cooperation in a range of areas, including political, trade, economic, security, defence, and connectivity.

Talking to his Uzbek counterpart, the Foreign Minister underscored the urgent need to operationalize the Transit Trade Agreement and Preferential Trade Agreement for boosting trade and transit between the two countries.

In his interaction with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev Moldokanovich, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the importance of renewed focus on the important road and energy connectivity projects such as CASA-1000 and Quadrilateral Agreement on Traffic-in-Transit.

Pakistan expresses concerns over deteriorating health of Yasin Malik

Pakistan has expressed concerns over the deteriorating health of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik and demanded his immediate release from the Indian detention.

Speaking at the weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar called upon the Indian government to refrain from victimizing the true representatives of Kashmiri people by way of inhuman and illegal detentions and implications through sham trials in baseless and fictitious cases.

The Spokesperson once again urged international community to take cognizance of India’s inhuman and illegal detention and treatment of Yasin Malik and of other political leaders, and to ensure that the Kashmiri people can exercise their right to self-determination as promised to them by the UN and the world community.

He said as we prepare to solemnly commemorate Youm-e-Istehsaal on 5th of the next month marking three years of India’s unilateral and illegal actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan salutes the indomitable spirit of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and honours their immense sacrifices.

Pakistan committed to cooperate with Int’l partners for regional peace, stability: COAS

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa says Pakistan is committed to cooperate with its international partners for peace and stability in the region.

Talking to Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong, in Rawalpindi on Friday, he said Pakistan values China’s role in global and regional affairs and looks forward to enhancing strategic partnership with it.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, defence collaboration, progress on CPEC and regional security were discussed in detail.

The visiting dignitary thanked the Army Chief for special measures taken for provision of safe and secure environment for Chinese personnel employed on various projects in Pakistan and efforts toward regional stability.

He also assured to play his role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
