PM takes aerial view of flood-affected areas of Balochistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took an aerial visit of flood affected areas of Balochistan and viewed damages caused by recent monsoon rains.

The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to immediately set up a medical camp and supply medicines in the affected villages.

He asked the authorities for the provision of two more boats immediately to speed up the relief operations and ration in the affected villages.

Shehbaz Sharif also visited Jhal Magsi and interacted with flood-affected people in Shambani.

He directed to accelerate relief activities and provide food and other relief items to affected families.

The Prime Minister also directed to ensure availability of veterinary doctors for animals.

On the directive of Prime Minister, the Chief Secretary Balochistan dispatched teams in affected areas to accelerate relief activities.

Earlier, the Prime Minister also visited Jacobabad where he was briefed about relief activities in flood-affected areas.

President, PM felicitate Muslim Ummah at advent of Muharram, new Islamic year

President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have felicitated Muslims on beginning of the new Islamic year 1444, and prayed that the new Hijri year may bring blessings for Pakistan, Islamic Ummah and the whole world.

In their separate messages at the advent of Muharram-ul-Haram, the first month of the Hijri year, they said the new Islamic year is a reminder that one should leave behind the ill feelings of the past, learn from one’s mistakes and seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty.

The President in his message said the start of the Hijri year reminds us the lesson that a believer should make every possible effort for upholding his religion Islam.

The Prime Minister in his message appealed to the nation to pledge at individual and collective level that they will make tolerance and brotherhood their aim in all religious and political matters.

He said we should make a pledge at the start of the new Islamic year that we will serve the country with complete honesty.

FBR issues rebuttal about sending of dollars from Karachi Airport

Federal Board of Revenue has issued rebuttal about the purported flight of dollars in April this year to Dubai through Karachi Airport in 245 suitcases.

In a statement, the FBR categorically rebutted the contents of the two back-to-back tweets by journalist Shaheen Sehbai in this regard on Friday last.

According to the FBR, the contents of Sehbai’s tweets are unfounded and absolutely contrary to the facts.

It said no information has been found in the official record of the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations-Karachi nor in the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Headquarters, Islamabad that can corroborate the assertions made in the tweets of Shaheen Sehbai.

AJK President asks Kashmiri diaspora abroad to expose Indian brutalities in IIOJK

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has asked the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK and other parts of the world to expose Indian brutalities in Kashmir and the ill-treatment meted out to Kashmiri prisoners languishing in Indian jails.

He expressed these views during his meeting with President Kashmir Peace Forum International UK Barrister Karamat Hussain in Islamabad on Saturday.

The AJK president said that during his recent trip to the UK and Brussels, he had raised his voice on the plight of Kashmiris at every important forum.

A committee consisting of senior barristers was formed, which would provide legal support for the release of Yasin Malik.

More rain-wind and thundershower expected in Punjab, Islamabad, KP and other parts of country

The Met Office has forecast more rain-wind and thundershower in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north and eastern Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. during the next twelve hours.

However, isolated heavy falls are likely in Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and north Balochistan.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning: Islamabad and Peshawar twenty-five degree centigrade, Lahore twenty-six, Karachi and Gilgit twenty-seven, Quetta twenty-one, Murree seventeen and Muzaffarabad twenty-three degree centigrade. According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain-wind-thundershower is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula.

Srinagar nineteen degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-five, Leh thirteen, Pulwama and Anantnag eighteen, Shopian and Baramula seventeen degree centigrade.
