Filtration plants to be installed across Punjab: Sarwar

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that more than fifteen hundred clean drinking water filtration plants will be installed in the province.

Addressing a reception to provincial ministers and members Punjab Assembly at the Governor’s House in lahore on Sunday, he said in the first phase 5.5 billion rupees will be spent on this project.

Fawad terms Shehbaz’s call for holding APC on electoral reforms as absolutely ridiculous

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has termed the call of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif for holding All Parties Conference on electoral reforms as absolutely ridiculous.

In a press statement, the minister said Shahbaz Sharif has bypassed the parliament over the issue of electoral reforms and due legislation.

He questioned that how can the people who are in the habit of election rigging can give suggestions over holding of fair and transparent elections.

Chaudhry Fawad said Shahbaz Sharif has coined a new story after the failure of Pakistan Democratic Movement.

Two terrorists killed in security forces operation in North Waziristan

Two terrorists have been killed in an intelligence based operation by security forces in Spinwam area of North Waziristan district.

According to ISPR, Naik Nazakat Khan, resident of Attock, also embraced martyrdom during the operation.

The killed terrorists were active members of TTP in the area and involved in terrorist activities against security forces.

Govt allocates Rs33bn for uplift of agriculture sector: Jamshed Iqbal

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema says the government has allocated funds of 33 billion rupees for the uplift of agriculture sector.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore in today (Sunday), he said that new dams are being constructed and the canal system is being upgraded to bring more area under cultivation.

He said so far 4.1 million olive trees have been planted in the country.
