Punjab Govt imposes lockdown in 15 selected districts due to spread of COVID19

Punjab Government has imposed lockdown in 15 selected districts due to outbreak of corona pandemic in the province.

According to a notification issued by Primary and Secondary Health Care Department Punjab in Lahore, lockdown will remain in effect in 15 high-risk districts from today until 12th of this month.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Department Imran Sikandar Baloch said 15 high risk districts include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Khanewal, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Sheikhupura, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujrat, Sialkot and Bhakkar.

He said market and business activities will continue until 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday will be observed as safe days.

The Secretary said a complete ban will continue on indoor dining however, outdoor dining will be allowed till 10pm under strict COVID protocols.

Imran Sikandar Baloch said cinemas and all shrines in selected 15 districts will remain completely closed.

He said all government and private offices and institutions will continue to operate with 50 percent attendance as per normal working hours.

Imran Sikandar Baloch said transport between the selected districts will be completely closed.

Complete lockdown has also been imposed in federal capital Islamabad from today till 12th of this month.

According to National Command and Control Center, ban has been imposed on all intercity public transport, while all educational institutions are also closed.

Govt launched various development projects in tribal districts; Qadri

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Dr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri says the government has launched various development projects across the tribal districts to remove the sense of deprivation of tribal people.

Inaugurating a newly constructed road in Landi Kotal area of district Khyber on Saturday, he said hectic efforts are underway to provide basic facilities to the public at their doorstep.

Dr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said completion of under-construction roads in the area will minimize the problems of public and transporters, besides starting a new era of development and prosperity in the tribal areas.

Usman Buzdar said public service is his mission and as teamwork the government will continue the journey of development.

Punjab Government Spokesperson Fayyazul Hassan Chohan says our government has successfully handled corona pandemic.

Addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi today, he said world has acknowledged Punjab’s performance in stopping the spread of virus.

He said cases against the corrupt elements will be taken to logical conclusion.

AJK Cabinet urges global community to take notice of Kashmir abuses

The AJK cabinet through a unanimous resolution appealed UN and international community to take serious notice of unabated human rights violations in In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The cabinet presided over by AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi in Muzaffarabad on Saturday strongly condemned Indian authorities for not allowing the family members and people to attend the funeral prayers of the veteran leader Syed Ali Geelani.

The cabinet also paid glowing tributes to the services and sacrifices of veteran Hurriyat Leader Syed Ali Gilani for the freedom movement all along his life.

Speaking on the occasion, AJK Prime Minister thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their firm stand at the international level on the Kashmir issue.
