Sapna Nair is Eventbrite’s first leadership hire in India and joins the company with more than 25 years of experience in scaling teams and building high-performing engineering organizations from the ground up. She has deep roots in India’s business environment. She previously chaired the Intuit Women’s Network and was a speaker at the Grace Hopper Conference in India, which connects thousands of women in technology globally. Most recently, Sapna served as a Senior Director of Software Engineering and Site Leader at Groupon.

CM Sindh approves Rs1.5bln to repair routes of People’s Bus Service in Karachi

Sindh Cabinet meeting held in Karachi on Tuesday with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the chair, approved one point five billion rupees for the repair of all seven routes of the People’s Bus Service.

The meeting also offered fateha for the martyred due to the current monsoon rain.

Chief Minister directed Karachi Municipal Corporation and Karachi Development Authority to repair all the roads damaged due to rains in the city.

The Chief Minister also issued instructions to all deputy commissioners to provide details of rain damage to crops, roads and houses in the province.

The Cabinet accorded approval to the Village Electrification to provide electricity through Solar PV technology.

Legal experts term prohibited funding of PTI as violation of Political Parties Act

Legal experts have termed the prohibited funding of PTI as violation of Political Parties Act.

Speaking in a program of Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel on Tuesday, senior lawyers of Supreme Court also urged the PTI leadership to answer the show cause notice of Election Commission of Pakistan instead of criticizing Chief Election Commission.

Senior Lawyer Shahid Kamal said the ECP decision has put the onus on PTI to prove that its funding doesn’t lie in the category of prohibited funding, failing which would lead to forfeiting the specific funding. He said the false affidavit provided by PTI in ECP would create more problems for the party including a complete ban.

Nawaz Kharal said the ECP decision on PTI foreign funding case has exposed PTI’s reality and now they have to prove that the funding was not illegal.

CM KP approves compensation package for heirs of flood-affectees

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, held in Peshawar today with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair, has approved enhancement of compensation package for heirs of people who died due to floods and rains from three-hundred thousand to eight-hundred thousand rupees.

This was stated by Minister for Labor and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai while briefing the media about decisions taken by the provincial cabinet.

It also increased the compensation for damaged houses to four hundred thousand rupees.

The meeting also approved establishment of rescue 1122 centers in districts having mines and minerals to protect the lives of mine workers.

The cabinet expressed satisfaction over the sufficient stock of wheat flour in the province and decided to continue the subsidy by spending thirty-five billion rupees.

Shaukat Yousafzai said the cabinet also approved four point three billion rupees for the construction and designing of irrigation channels in Mohmand dam Hydro Power project.

The Minister said the government is providing a conducive environment to encourage the foreign investment in the province.

Referring to the ongoing negotiations with TTP in Afghanistan Shaukat Yousafzai hoped the talks between Taliban and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will yield positive results.
