BISP disburses Rs11bn among flood affected families under Flood Relief Cash Assistance Program

Under the government’s Flood Relief Cash Assistance program, the Benazir Income Support Program has so far disbursed around eleven billion rupees among flood affected families across Pakistan.

According to details, a total of 434,742 flood affected families were provided this cash assistance. These families include 48,092 from Balochistan, 257,351 from Sindh, 47,067 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 82,232 families from Punjab.

Moreover, to ensure smooth payments to flood affectees, a control Room has also been established at the BISP headquaters in Islamabad.

The affected families can send their CNIC numbers to 8171 for registration in Flood Relief Cash Assistance program and upon receiving payment message they can visit their nearby camp site to receive the cash.

IT Minister stresses for increasing telecommunication resources to boost entrepreneurship activities

Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin ul Haque has underscored the need for increasing telecommunication resources to give a boost to business and entrepreneurship activities in the country.

He was addressing the launching ceremony of Pakistan National Information and Communication Technology Development White Paper in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Minister said the government is focusing on increasing IT exports from current 2.6 billion dollars to five billion dollars next year.

He said a comprehensive strategy for protection of personal data has been devised. He said no IT related policy will compromise on two key matters that are: national security and ease of doing business.

Highlighting some of the major ongoing projects by the Ministry of Information Technology, Syed Amin ul Haque said 5 G services will be launched in Pakistan within next three years while work to digitize the parliament ad make it cyber efficient will also be completed by next year.
