Synchronoss Personal Cloud Solution Selected by Telkomsel to Bolster Digital Services Offering

New partnership will allow Indonesian mobile operator to bring personal cloud services to a market of more than 170 million subscribers

BRIDGEWATER, N.J., Nov. 04, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNCR), a global leader and innovator of cloud, messaging and digital solutions, today announced it would supply its personal cloud solution to Telkomsel, Indonesia’s largest mobile operator. The addition of the Synchronoss Personal Cloud solution will give Telkomsel’s subscribers the ability to back up and manage their valuable digital content, including photos and videos, from any device.

The white-label Synchronoss Personal Cloud solution—branded “Floudrive” and managed by Telkomsigma—will be made available to Telkomsel’s 170 million subscribers as a premium feature. Subscribers will be able to choose between two different storage tiers and enjoy an initial free 30-day period. The solution gives subscribers a reliable and intuitive cloud storage experience, with the ability to backup and sync digital content, while also introducing advanced tagging and search capabilities.

“We are excited to be partnering with Synchronoss to integrate its personal cloud solutions into our consumer channel,” said Tanto Suratno, Director of Business and Sales, Telkomsigma. “Having outgrown our existing personal cloud offering, now is the perfect time to embrace this opportunity and provide our subscribers with an advanced solution that meets their evolving needs. We look forward to enabling our customers to optimize and manage their precious digital content, and to protect and store it safely and securely. As well as benefiting our customers, this partnership also represents the next step as we move towards offering more digital services.”

The solution will be delivered through Synchronoss’ agreement with Telkomsigma, the IT Services and Data Center arm of Telkomsel and Telkomsigma’s parent company, Telkom Indonesia. Unlike other cloud solutions on the market, the Synchronoss-powered personal cloud allows subscriber data to be stored in-country, a critical requirement for Telkomsel to adhere to Indonesian law.

Anthony Socci, President and General Manager, APAC for Synchronoss, said he is delighted to be working with Telkomsel on its new cloud offering. “As a private cloud solution provider, we are always looking for ways to support telecom partners in their mission to deliver more varied and advanced digital services to their subscribers. This cloud solution will be instrumental to Telkomsel as it facilitates a more integrated experience and promotes a safer handling of personal assets,” he said. “This deal builds on the success we have already experienced with Telkomsigma that impressed and inspired Telkomsel to deliver similar offerings to their mobile subscribers. It will also create greater synergies between the two organizations within the group.”

Saqlain Mushtaq Likely to Continue as Head Coach for Pakistan’s Next Tour

Pakistan’s interim head coach, Saqlain Mushtaq, is likely to continue his role for the national team in their upcoming tour of Bangladesh. Saqlain was initially appointed as the head coach of Pakistan for the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup, but Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to extend his contract for the upcoming series.

According to sources, coaches from National High-Performance Center (NHPC) will accompany Saqlain as consultants for the tour of Bangladesh. Currently, former Australian opening batter, Matthew Hayden, and former South African seamer, Vernon Philander, are serving as batting and bowling consultants, respectively. Both the former stars were also hired for the T20 World Cup only.

Sources further revealed that PCB will appoint a permanent head coach prior to Pakistan’s home series against West Indies which is scheduled to take place later in the year. Former South African batter, Gary Kirsten, former Australian batter, Simon Katich and former England head coach, Peter Moores, are considered as the three candidates for the head coach role.

Under the leadership of Saqlain, Pakistan has been remarkable in the 2021 T20 World Cup. The Men in Green defeated arch-rivals India in the opening encounter before registering wins against New Zealand, Afghanistan, and Namibia in their first four matches in the tournament. They became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament and are likely to face either Australia or South Africa.

Ufone Football Cup Kicks Off with over 2,000 Young Footballers Participating

The much famed Ufone Football Cup is starting today simultaneously in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two editions of the tournament will take place simultaneously this year with over 2,000 young footballers from 140 teams battling it out to win the respective title of the province.

The Balochistan leg of the tournament will be the fourth edition this time and will be played in 22 cities in which 69 teams will face each other in the qualifier round. The 22 city champions will then proceed to the eliminator round, where only eight teams will qualify for the ‘Super 8’.

The Super 8 matches will be played on 20th and 21st November while the semifinals and final will be played on 22nd and 23rd respectively for the Balochistan title in Quetta’s Ayub Stadium.

Meanwhile, the second Khyber Pakhtunkhwa edition will kick start from 8th November. A total of 71 teams from 24 cities will clash for the KP title in the qualifier round. 24 city champions will meet in the eliminator round, of which 8 will move on to the Super 8.

The Super 8 will be played on 29th and 30th November while the semifinals and final matches will be played on 1st and 2nd December respectively in Peshawar’s Qayyum Stadium.

Both Balochistan and KP title winners will face off in a Super Final in Peshawar on 3rd December. All semifinals, final, and super final will be broadcast live on PTV Sports in the presence of thousands of football fans at the venues to catch the action live.

The Ufone Football Cup provides a unique and favorable platform to young and talented footballers to enable and empower them to make their mark in their favorite sport. The company chose Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the tournament because the two regions are full of talented young footballers but lack the necessary infrastructure and sports facilities to nurture their talent.

Commenting on the tournament, Amir Pasha, Head of PR & Corporate Communication, Ufone, said: “The Ufone Football Cup has become a major sports event in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We are glad that this tournament is quickly becoming an effective platform to identify promising young footballers, who can go on to represent Pakistan on global level.”

“Apart from identifying and nurturing quality sporting talent, we aim to promote constructive and healthy lifestyle amongst the youth to help engender a generation that is sound in body and mind,” he added.

Dr. Nauman finally apologized to Shoaib and revealed the details behind the incident in an interview with renowned journalist, Rauf Klasra, on his YouTube channel.

“The repercussions of my on-air outburst are totally fair. To err is human, that should not have happened and for that, I can apologize for not only once but a million times. I know I hurt the sentiments of a lot of people and that includes Shoaib Akhtar, who has been a rollicking star… regardless of the fact that it was his mistake or not,” Dr. Nauman stated.
