China ‘strongly condemns’ Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, warns of ‘consequences’

China has strongly condemned the visit by speaker of US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, branding it ‘extremely dangerous’ and a threat to regional stability.

In a statement, Chinese foreign ministry said this visit has a severe impact on China-U.S. relations as it seriously infringes upon China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Meanwhile, China has put its military on high alert to launch “targeted military operations” in response to Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

This was announced by Chinese defence ministry in a statement in Beijing.

Met office forecasts hot, humid weather

Hot and Humid weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

However, rain with wind and thundershower is expected in Kashmir, upper and central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, eastern and southern Balochistan.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad twenty-five degree centigrade, Lahore thirty, Karachi twenty-eight, Peshawar twenty-six, Quetta and Muzaffarabad twenty-two, Gilgit nineteen and Murree fifteen degree centigrade.

According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain-wind-thundershower is expected in Srinagar, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain wind-thundershower in Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula while partly cloudy weather chances of rain thundershower in Leh.

Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian and Baramula sixteen degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-five, Leh twelve and Anantnag fifteen degree centigrade.

PM’s flood relief committee visits PMSA Base at Keti Bander in Karachi

The committee on flood relief, constituted by the Prime Minister, visited Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Base at Keti Bander in Karachi.

The committee, led by Minister for Climate Change, Sherry Rehman and comprising other federal ministers and MNAs, was given briefing by the Base Commander and Deputy Commissioner.

Sherry Rehman appreciated the flood relief support provided by PMSA, particularly in the operation which resulted in recovery of lost fishermen.

Meanwhile, the death toll in flood stricken areas of Balochistan has risen to 164, including 43 women.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, a large scale resuce and relief operation is underway in all flood affected areas of the province.

The National Disaster Management Authority has dispatched one thousand ration bags for flood affectees in Balochistan.

In a media release, the NDMA Spokesperson said these ration bags were provided by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

PDM chairman demands action against Imran Khan for violating constitution

Chairman Pakistan Democratic Movement and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F Chief, Maulana Fazl-ur Rehman says action should immediately be taken in accordance with the law following the verdict by Election Commission of Pakistan in the PTI prohibited funding case.

Addressing a news conference alongside other PDM leaders in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said prohibited funding of PTI has been proved and this is a charge sheet against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said PTI chief not only violated the constitution but also his oath and he is no more ‘sadiq’ and ‘amin’.

He said necessary action should immediately be taken against PTI chief and other party leaders, who were involved in concealing accounts from Election Commission.
