Martyrdom anniversary of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed observed

The 51st Shahadat anniversary of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider was observed on Monday.

According to the Media wing of Pakistan Army, General Officer Commanding Major General Muhammad Nadeem Ashraf laid floral wreath at Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed’s mausoleum.

Tessori urges efforts for promotion of Urdu literature

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori has said promotion of Urdu literature is collective responsibility of the society.

Addressing an international literature conference in Federal Urdu University in Karachi on Monday, he said Urdu language is a symbol of unity and solidarity in Pakistan.

He underlined the need of translating research papers in Urdu language.

PDWP approves funds worth Rs3b for various development schemes

Punjab Development Working Party has approved funds worth 03 billion rupees for development of three schemes of different sectors across the province.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman Planning and Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal in Lahore on Monday.

The meeting approved over1.96 billion rupees for maintenance and renovation of Jinnah Cricket Stadium Sialkot.

The approval of over 1.12 billion rupees was also given for the establishment of THQ Hospital in Pothohar Town area of Rawalpindi district.

Punjab Governor felicitates PBC for launching video podcast service, sports channel

Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-Ur-Rehman congratulated Radio Pakistan for launching video podcast service and sports channel.

In an exclusive interview with our Radio Pakistan Correspondent Sajjad Parvez at Islamia University Bahawalpur, he lauded the administration’s decision to upgrade the Radio Pakistan’s transmission from audio to video mode to meet with the latest challenges of the broadcasting world.

Later talking with reference to the World’s Soil Day being observed today, Punjab Governor said Pakistan is self-sufficient in the production of agriculture produce in the region.

He said that agriculture sector is playing an important role for ensuring our food security which generates revenue of billions of rupees annually.

Baligh Ur Rehman said that effective steps are being taken by the government to enhance per acre yield.

He lauded the performance of Islamia University Bahawalpur for the promotion of education.

Earlier, Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-Ur-Rehman along with Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr Athar Mehboob cut the cake to mark the World Soil Day at Islamia University Bahawalpur on Monday.
