President expresses full confidence in capabilities of HIT

President Dr Arif Alvi visited Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) today (Tuesday).

He was briefed on HIT’s technical capabilities, production activities, indigenization efforts, major Research and Development projects and recently undertaken initiatives to improve efficiency of HIT.

Dr Arif Alvi applauded HIT’s efforts to attain self-reliance through indigenization and acquisition of modern technologies for combat vehicles and systems.

The President expressed his full confidence in capabilities of HIT and appreciated commitment of HIT to transform the organisation into a modern defence production establishment so as to adequately meet the requirements of Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in line with international standards.

Earlier on arrival, Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, Chairman HIT, received the President.

Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway to connect all major cities of Pakistan: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says as per promise of our leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif with his fellow Pakistanis, the foundation stone of the 306 kilometers long Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway has been laid.

In his tweets today (Tuesday), the Prime Minister said undoubtedly, the credit for the construction of motorways in Pakistan goes only to Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

He said Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway will be completed in a short period of 30 months and will connect all major cities of Pakistan from Peshawar to Karachi. He said it will create about 25 thousand new employment opportunities.

The Prime Minister said critics of the construction of motorways and other mega-projects in the past are now appreciative of these projects.
