Most wanted terrorist killed by security forces in KP

The security forces in an intelligence based operation, have killed the most wanted terrorist commander Zafar alias Zafari and two of his group members in Dara Adam Khel on Sunday.

According to the security sources, the slain terrorist commander belonged to the TTP and was involved in 26 grenade attacks in Pakistan.

The intelligence agencies and security forces hunt down terrorists by adopting unconventional operational procedures based on corroborated intelligence.

AJK Police arrests 10 local human smugglers allegedly involved in Greece boat disaster

Azad Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested at least ten local human smugglers in Kotli, involved in trafficking of over 50 persons, who were killed in shipwreck in Greece.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigations are in progress.

At least 27 persons from Kotli who got missing in the tragic incident have been identified so far.

Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq chairs meeting of AJK Cabinet in Islamabad

The meeting of AJK Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, was held in Islamabad on Sunday.

Approval was accorded in the meeting to proposals for a supplementary budget for the current financial year.

The cabinet approved the proposed ordinance seeking a complete ban on deforestation.

The Prime Minister told the cabinet members that the release of more funds from the federal government was expected.

The cabinet decided to open an account under the title of “Mad-e-Amanat” in which additional funds received from the federal government not being spent before the end of the financial year could be deposited.

Meanwhile, the Day of Mourning was observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday as over fifty people belonging to different parts of Kashmir feared drowned in Greece.

The AJK flag remained at half mast in mourning for the major human tragedy.

On the other hand, AJK Bar Council has announced to observe day-long mourning across AJK tomorrow over the colossal loss of precious human lives.

Delegation of Kashmiri leaders visits Jinnah House in Lahore

A delegation of Kashmiri leaders led by Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone visited the Jinnah House in Lahore on Sunday.

Talking to media, Abdul Hameed Lone said people of Jammu and Kashmir will remember the 9th May as a black day.

He said that incident of 9th May is a nefarious attempt to tarnish the image of the country.

He said some political elements propagandized and misled the youth and incited them to attack the Jinnah House.

Govt devises effective roadmap for development of country, Ahsan Iqbal

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said the government has devised an effective road map for the development of the country.

Addressing at the inaugural ceremony of a new Construction Division in Narowal on Sunday, he said hefty investments were made in the country through China Pakistan Economic Corridor during previous PML (N) tenure.

He stressed the need for modernizing the education system and promoting digital education among youth.

He said the youth of the country will be provided with laptops to adapt them with modern technology and the government already decided to re-launch the laptop scheme this year.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Energy Engineer Khurram Dastgir says the PMLN government is working to enhance energy production at low prices and to initiate new power plants to provide uninterrupted electricity to the masses.

Ruet-e-Hilal committee meets today for sighting of Zulhajj crescent

The meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting the Crescent of Zulhajj, 1444 AH will be held at Pakistan Meteorological Department in Karachi today (Monday).

Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.

The meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also be held at their respective Headquarters at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Zil Hajj moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia and Eid ul Adha will be celebrated in the kingdom on 28th of this month.

PM assures nation of action against those involved in human smuggling

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says FIA and other law enforcement agencies have been tasked to tighten the noose around the individuals involved in the heinous act of human smuggling.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said in order to ascertain facts in the wake of the tragic incident of the capsizing of the boat in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Greece, a high-level inquiry has been ordered.

He said that he has also directed Pakistan Foreign Office to undertake immediate coordination at all levels to collect information about the missing people and keep the nation updated.

The Prime Minister assured the nation that those found negligent towards their duty will be held to account. He said responsibility will be fixed after the inquiry and heads will roll.

PM wishes luck to differently-abled athletes taking part in Special Olympics

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed best wishes to differently-abled athletes who are in Germany to take part in Special Olympics World Games 2023.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said that in 87-member delegation consisting of both male and female sportspeople, Pakistan has a strong representation in the global event.

Shehbaz Sharif said now is the time to reap the fruit of hard work they put in while preparing for eleven games.

The Prime Minister said he is confident that our special and privileged athletes will use the mega opportunity to bring laurels to the motherland through their talent and determination.
