Engineering Council to have state-of-the-art Engineers Complex soon

Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has planned to establish the first-ever Engineers Complex in Karachi with state-of-the-art facilities to prepare the engineering community to cope with the modern-day challenges.

According to official sources, PEC has purchased 11.4 acres of land in DHA city for the establishment of Engineers complex which will comprise of IT Tower, Engineering Academy, Engineers Club and PEC offices.

The establishment of the Engineers Complex was a long-held dream of the engineering community and would help provide a state-of-the-art academy and residence besides other opportunities to the engineering community, the source said.

BISP launches Whatsapp channel to provide updates to masses

Benazir Income Support Programme has launched a Whatsapp channel for facilitating masses through providing them details of all its initiatives and counter fake messages.

According to an official source, the existing and intending beneficiaries had been urged to follow the official Whatsapp channel of BISP to get all the information about the programmes.

Earlier the BISP launched a modern call center in collaboration with the National Telecommunication Corporation for providing authentic information related to the programme and promptly addressing grievances.

Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has urged all political parties to work together in resolving the nation’s issues.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore today, he said that all necessary measures will be taken to address Pakistan’s economic challenges.

Emphasizing the need for unity beyond political differences, he underscored the importance of collective efforts to combat terrorism and uplift Pakistan from economic struggles.

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz believes in the politics of hard work and service.

Video link system for under-trial prisoners at Hyderabad Prison inaugurated

The Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi has inaugurated a video link system at Central Prison and Correction Facility Hyderabad to enable the production of the under-trial prisoners before the respective courts through the video link.

The video link was a significant step in the judicial history of Sindh aimed at producing the prisoners before the court through video connectivity.

The link will also save transportation costs besides addressing the security concerns attached to the process of transportation.

The two-day Urs celebrations of the eminent spiritual leader Baba Peera Shah Ghazi, famously known as Damri Wali Sarkar has begun at Khari Sharif in Mirpur Azad Jammu Kashmir with traditional religious solemnity and reverence.

Pilgrims from different parts of the country laid floral wreaths at the Mazar and prayed for the prosperity, stability, integrity and solidarity of Pakistan and the success of the Kashmir freedom movement.

Chair IPO highlights importance of intellectual property rights

Chair IPO-Pakistan Ambassador (R) Farukh Amil today visited Air University in Islamabad to conduct an interactive session on intellectual property rights (IPR).

The session was aimed at educating students about the various aspects of IPR, including innovation, business, trademarks, copyrights, patents, and technological innovation. The importance of intellectual property for the growth of business, employment, and empowerment was emphasized during the session.

The collaboration between IPO-Pakistan and Air University seeks to empower the student community with the knowledge and tools to understand and excel in the realm of IPRs, thereby contributing to Pakistan’s innovation landscape. The interactive nature of the session provided students with valuable information and the opportunity to ask questions about IPR, fostering a better understanding of this important area.

In addition to the interactive session, the delegation of IPO also visited the Technology Innovation Support Centre (TISC) and its office of
research, innovation, and commercialization (ORIC) at Air University.

This visit likely provided insights into the university’s efforts in research, innovation, and commercialization, further strengthening the collaboration between IPO-Pakistan and Air University.
