Nation celebrated Independence Day with renewed pledge to make country true Islamic welfare state

The Nation celebrated Independence Day today (Saturday) with renewed pledge to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the country a true Islamic welfare state.

The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the Federal Capital and twenty-one gun salute at the provincial headquarters.

National flag was hoisting at all important public and private buildings.

Streets, markets and building were profusely illuminated.

National flags, portraits of founding fathers, posters, buntings and banners were also seen everywhere as part of the celebration of Independence Day.

Palestinian President sends good wishes on Independence Day

President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbass has sent his good wishes and felicitated President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the people of Pakistan on the Independence Day.

The Palestinian President expressed the keenness to strengthen the existing relations of brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries.

Mahmoud Abbass appreciated the support of Pakistani people for the Palestinian cause.

Pakistan extends condolences to Turkey on loss of lives in disastrous floods, mudslides: FO

The Government and people of Pakistan extend their heartfelt condolences to the Government and brotherly people of Turkey on the loss of precious lives and material damage as a result of disastrous floods and mudslides, particularly in the Bartin, Kastamonu and Sinop provinces.

In a statement today, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said that our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we wish speedy recovery to those injured as a result of this natural disaster.
