Gwadar’s 300 MW coal power plant to end energy scarcity by 2023

The longstanding issue of Gwadar city due to growing energy scarcity would end by October, 2023 after the completion of the 300 megawatts coal-fired power plant.

An official source told the APP while sharing exclusive updates of the project that the 300-megawatt coal-fired Gwadar Power Plant would cater the needs of some 150,000 local people by the end of 2023, under the 2050 Master Plan of Gwadar,

The power plant is one of the key energy projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The project is aimed at improving reliability on local power supply that would help to resolve the issue of power outages in current economic development and urban expansion in Gwadar region.

All major projects under CPEC in Gwadar, including Gwadar Power Plant, the New Gwadar International Airport the China Pak Friendship Hospital, China-Pak Technical and Vocational Institute Gwadar, the Gwadar East-bay Expressway Gwadar Free Zone, and Gwadar Port would go a long way to bring about development in the region.

AJK President seeks global attention towards unjust sentencing to JKLF chairman by India

Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has vowed to launch a campaign at international level to bring world attention towards JKLF chairman Yasin Malik’s unjust sentencing.

Addressing a ceremony in Mirpur today (Sunday), he said that after stripping the region of its special status, Indian government is hatching conspiracies to change the proportion of the population of Occupied Kashmir.

Regarding the redrawing of electoral maps and creating new constituencies in the Jammu region, the AJK president said that under this new scheme the BJP has paved the way for bringing a Hindu Chief Minister in the occupied Kashmir.

He assured the people of Occupied Kashmir that they were not alone in their struggle and the people of Azad Kashmir stand shoulder to shoulder with their brethren in the occupied Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self-determination.

Govt to fulfill its promises made for betterment of South Punjab: Hamza

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has said that any person who would try to cause political chaos in the country in the disguise of long march would be sent to prison.

Addressing a public gathering in Bahawalpur, he said Imran Khan had caused destruction to the national economy.

He said that Imran Khan did not fulfill his promise related to South Punjab saying PML-N led government would fulfill its promises made for South Punjab’s betterment.

Balochistan LB Elections: Counting of votes underway

Polling for local Bodies Elections in 32 districts of Balochistan has ended and the counting of votes is underway.

The polling started at 8:00 AM and continued till 5:00 PM without any break.

An emergency Control Room has been set-up at the Inspector General Police Balochistan Office in Quetta for ensuring peaceful elections in the province which will remain open till Monday.

Tight security measures were taken to avoid any kind of untoward incident across the province.
