Radio Pakistan has resumed its much-acclaimed sports feature of live ball-to-ball commentary on cricket matches, fulfilling the long-standing demand of masses.

This pro-people initiative commenced on Sunday with live commentary on Pakistan-India match of T-20 World Cup 2022.

The commentary, aired on all Radio Pakistan’s medium wave channels as well as its digital platforms, was widely welcomed by people.

With a wide network of strong medium wave transmitters, Radio Pakistan has unparalleled outreach of accessing people not only in every length and breadth of the country but also beyond the borders. In addition, the Radio Pakistan vibrant social media, having about one million followers on Twitter and over 2.6 million followers on Facebook, has been disseminating information across the world.

The decision to resume live commentary on cricket matches was taken by Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, who has been putting in strenuous efforts to restore the past glory of the national broadcaster.

The vision of the leadership of Radio Pakistan includes establishing the state broadcaster on modern lines of digitization. This also envisages taking the state broadcaster to the level of being known as “Broadcasting Technology Park.”

Death anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto observed

The 11th death anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, wife of former premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was observed with solemnity today (Sunday).

Nusrat Bhutto was mother of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and mother-in-law of former president Asif Ali Zardari.

Begum Nusrat Bhutto was born on 23 March 1928 and she passed away in Dubai on 23rd October in 2011 after a protracted illness.

She was elected Member of National Assembly from Larkana in 1988 and 1993.

Federal Minister and spokesperson for Pakistan People’s Party Shazia Marri has paid homage to Madr-e-Jamhoriat Nusrat Bhutto on her death anniversary.

She said her role in the supremacy of the Constitution and democracy is unforgettable.

Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi while paying tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto on her death anniversary said Begum Nusrat Bhutto sacrificed her husband, son and daughter for the sake of the country, the nation and democracy.

CM KP directs Revenue Board to expedite land record computerization

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the authorities of Board of Revenue to expedite the computerization of land record in the province.

Presiding over a meeting in Peshawar, he stressed giving special focus on completion of computerization of land record in the provincial capital within the next three months.

The Chief Minister also directed to take steps for establishment of service delivery centres at the subdivision level in every district.

World Polio Day to be observed on Monday

World Polio Day will be observed tomorrow (Monday) to raise awareness of the importance of polio vaccination to protect every child from this devastating disease.

The day highlights the global efforts to end polio worldwide.

On the eve of World Polio Day, a week long anti-polio sub-national campaign will start tomorrow in 83 districts of four provinces of the country.

The children under five years age will be administered polio drops.
