Coalition govt takes various initiatives for socio-economic development of Pakistan

Islamabad, April 09, 2023 (PPI-OT):The PML-N-led coalition government, in a short span of just one year, has launched a number of projects and took various initiatives for socio-economic development of the country. These pro-people initiatives and measures have been taken in various fields, including infrastructure development, social protection, and economic progress.

Of these, Blue and Green Lines Metro Bus Service launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last year, is an important step to provide a comfortable and respectable travel facility to the commuters of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Besides, the Prime Minister also launched the Orange Line Metro Bus route taking the travelers back and forth from Faiz Ahmed Faiz stop to New Islamabad Airport. Passengers can catch up the Orange Line Metro from Faiz Ahmed Faiz by using the Red Line Metro, which was also an initiative of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government in the past.

Punjab Polls: ECP issues code of conduct for int’l election observers, media persons

Islamabad, April 09, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a 30-point code of conduct for international observers and media persons. The code provides guidelines for conduct, impartiality, and security during the observation and reporting of the country’s electoral process, and aims to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections. According to the code of conduct, individuals or groups who observe and report on the electoral process in Pakistan must read and sign a Code of Conduct that includes a pledge.

This code of conduct is also applicable on official social media accounts of international newspapers, channels, media persons and other social media influencers. International observers and media personnel must follow the rules for visa applications and respect Pakistan’s sovereignty and the fundamental rights and freedoms of its people.

Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan’s neighbors to meet in Uzbekistan on Thursday

The fourth foreign minister’s meeting of the neighboring countries of Afghanistan will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on Thursday.

According to TASS news agency, the representatives from Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will discuss the fight against narcotics production and the activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan. The Russian delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Meanwhile, the interim Afghan government spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said Afghanistan is secure and stable, and this stability is advantageous to the entire region and countries.

He said all neighboring countries should cooperate diplomatically and economically with Afghanistan to ensure long-term peace and security.

On the other hand, Afghanistan’s special forces have killed two Daesh militants and arrested a third during an operation in Nimroz province.
