Punjab: Over 41 mln flour bags of 10kg distributed among deserving people

In Punjab, government has distributed over forty one million flour bags of ten kilogram each among deserving people free of cost under Ramadan Relief Package across the province.

According to a spokesman of Punjab government, fifty three billion rupees were spent on this free flour scheme which benefited thirty one million deserving families.

He said in order to ensure smooth distribution of the free flour under the scheme, the caretaker provincial ministers visited distribution points in all districts and supervised the distribution process.

Russia, China agree to further strengthen bilateral ties in diverse fields

Russia and China have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields including economic, political and military sectors.

After meeting with Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin said we are having active military contacts, share useful information, engaged in military-technical cooperation, and hold joint exercises.

He said undoubtedly, this will strengthen the extremely trusting, strategic nature of our relations.

The Chinese Defence Minister said cooperation between Russia and China in the military-technical spheres has been developing very well for boosting regional security.

Arab League calls for ceasefire, return to peaceful negotiations in Sudan

The Arab League has called for a ceasefire in Sudan, expressing concern over the escalating violence and hostilities.

In statement issued after an emergency meeting to discuss the recent developments in the country, the Arab League also emphasized the need for a return to peaceful negotiations and to “establish a new phase that fulfills the ambitions of the brotherly Sudanese people.

The emergency meeting was called for by Egypt and Saudi Arabia in response to clashes between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces.
