KP Govt cancels holidays of staff in all hospitals of province

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has cancelled holidays of all the staff in all the hospitals of the province.

The health department has issued notification to all the medical teaching institutions and district health officers in this regard.

The department has also directed the concerned authorities to ensure availability of necessary medicine at the hospitals.

Caretaker Sindh CM directs to facilitate people during heavy rains

Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister retired Justice Maqbool Baqar has issued directions to the concerned authorities of the province to facilitate people during heavy rains.

He directed the authorities of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to ensure draining of rain water from low lying areas. He also directed police to take necessary steps to facilitate people including traffic management.

Meanwhile, a control room has been established at the office of Commissioner Karachi after heavy rains in the city.

People have been advised to lodge complaint on phone number 021-99203443.

Collective efforts required for bringing economic stability in country: Tareen

Chief of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party Jahangir Khan Tareen has said that collective efforts are required for bringing economic stability in the country.

Addressing workers convention in Multan today, he said that provision of job opportunities to the jobless youth is linked to economic stability. He maintained that increase of salaries would also be feasible if the country’s economy improved.

He said that he will work jointly with PML-N for improving the economy of the country.

People to decide country’s future by voting in upcoming general elections: Shehbaz

President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that people will decide the future of the country by voting in upcoming general elections.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore today, Shehbaz Sharif said the report of Transparency International surfaced three days ago indicates that corruption index decreased during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif.

Shehbaz Sharif said that in the PDM coalition government, the corruption index had reduced from 140 to 133 and the credit of which goes to 13 political parties.

President PML-N said that the PML-N government gave subsidies on fertilizers and tube wells across the country.

Soldier Muhammad Tariq Shaheed laid to rest with full military honours

Soldier Muhammad Tariq Shaheed was laid to rest in his native area Badin, Sindh today, with full military honor.

According to ISPR, a large number of senior officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army, relatives and local people attended funeral prayer of the Shaheed.

Muhammad Tariq was martyred in an ambush by terrorists in the disputed area between South Sudan during the United Nations peacekeeping mission.

Pakistan’s peacekeeping forces have always distinguished themselves for their professionalism and devotion to duty.

So far, 181 Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives for international peace.

Caretaker Punjab cabinet decides to upgrade, redesign Bab-e-Azadi

Punjab Cabinet meeting was held in Lahore today with the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi in the chair.

The cabinet decided to upgrade and redesign Bab-e-Azadi at Wahga Border Lahore and remodel Liberty Chowk Lahore.

The meeting also approved the funds for expansion of Lahore Metro bus service and extension of Speedo bus service from Bahawalpur to Lodhran.

PPP will facilitate small farmers, if voted to power: Bilawal

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said that if voted to power, his party would introduce Kissan Card to support small farmers and the Benazir Youth Card to provide financial assistance to the youth.

Addressing a rally in Hyderabad this evening, he termed inflation, poverty and unemployment as three biggest challenges.
