PM felicitates nation on successful conduct of general elections

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has felicitated the nation on successful conduct of general elections.

In a post on X handle after the conclusion of polling process, he appreciated the efforts of Election Commission of Pakistan, Interim Provincial Governments, Armed Forces, Civil Armed Forces, police, law enforcement agencies, election staff, the media and all those institutions and individuals who contributed to the conduct of the free and fair elections.

The Prime Minister said this momentous occasion is not just a testament to the resilience and strength of our democratic processes but also to the indomitable spirit of the Pakistani people. The participation and enthusiasm of people of Pakistan have been the cornerstone of this democratic exercise.

He said the high voter turnout is a clear indication of public commitment to shaping the future of our country. The voices, expressed through the votes, will contribute to the fortification of our democracy, and for that, people of Pakistan deser
ve every bit of appreciation.

He said despite few incidents of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the efforts of Armed Forces, Civil Armed Forces, LEAs, Civilian Administration and Election Commission of Pakistan for conducting free and fair election across the country are commendable. Their unwavering commitment to their duties has been instrumental in the smooth conduct of the elections.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said in the face of adversity, the people of Pakistan have shown remarkable courage and determination. He said their resolve in the aftermath of the recent terrorism incidents, to participate in the electoral process, is a powerful statement against the forces that seek to destabilize our nation. He said it underscores our collective desire for peace, stability, and prosperity.

He expressed the confidence the election would serve as a harbinger of a brighter and more prosperous future for Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Interior Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz has expressed satisfaction that ove
rall security situation across the country was kept generally stable to ensure peaceful conduct of free and fair elections.

In a statement today, he acknowledged the unwavering dedication and professionalism of security forces, law enforcement agencies, and police personnel.

He said these forces are deployed extensively and in large numbers, ensuring the smooth conduct of the electoral process, which is a testament to their commitment to democracy and the people of Pakistan.

He congratulated all the security personnel who played a critical role in facilitating a peaceful voting environment. He said their deployment covered even the most far-flung areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, interior Sindh and Punjab, underscoring our commitment to ensuring every citizen’s right to vote in a secure atmosphere.

The Minister said that the overall situation remained under control, demonstrating the effectiveness of our security measures.

Law Minister launches Urdu translation of federal laws online

Caretaker Minister for Law and Justice Ahmad Irfan Aslam has launched Urdu translation of federal laws for the general public to be available on the website and mobile Apps of the ministry.

The purpose of this initiative is to provide easy access to the general public in Urdu. So far, most frequently viewed Laws have been uploaded on the said website.

Besides, the ministry is developing a digital archiving system to save documents. This system will have features such as version control, an intelligent search system and user logs.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Law and Justice has developed a Library Management Information System which is a web-based off-the-shelf system, developed internally by the project team accessible link http://LMIS.molaw.gov.pk.

All employees of the Federal Government can access the books and after having membership the books can be issued.

Currently, 9679 books are digitally catalogued on the system.

Jonathan lauds efforts of Caretaker Govt, ECP to ensure smooth polling process

Head of the Commonwealth Observer Mission Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has commended efforts of the caretaker government and the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure smooth polling process in the country.

He said this while addressing a joint news conference with Caretaker Interior Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz in Islamabad today.

Dr Goodluck Jonathan visited several polling stations of the Federal Capital and found the polling process as smooth and hassle free.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gohar Ejaz said about six hundred thousand security personnel have been deployed to provide security to the electoral process.

President lauds Wafaqi Mohtasib’ role in promoting good governance, delivering justice

President Dr Arif Alvi has said Wafaqi Mohtasib is helping promote good governance and delivering free-of-cost justice to the people.

He said this while speaking at a briefing during his visit to the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office in Islamabad.

The President stressed the need to further enhance awareness among the people about the role and services of Mohtasib in provision of timely justice against maladministration of government departments. He also urged the need to further expand the outreach of the Mohtasib to far-flung areas of the country, besides improving people’s access to Mohtasib by utilizing modern technology.

The President lauded the performance of the Wafaqi Mohtasib and said that it was doing a remarkable job by providing prompt relief to the people

The President was briefed that the Wafaqi Mohtasib has resolved 193,028 complaints against the maladministration of government departments and provided relief worth 4.898 billion rupees to citizens last year.

Furthermore, on the recommendations of Wafa
qi Mohtasib, 18,000 street children were enrolled in government schools in Islamabad.

Pakistan Army congratulates nation on peaceful general elections

Pakistan Army has extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation on peaceful and violence free general elections in the country.

In a statement, ISPR said the armed forces alongside other Law Enforcement Agencies are proud to have played a pivotal role in providing security during conduct of the electoral process, in aid of civil power and in accordance with the constitution of Pakistan.

It said with the deployment of 137,000 army personnel and civil armed forces at approximately 6,000 selected most sensitive polling stations and over 7800 QRFs, a safe and secure environment for the public was ensured.

Despite 51 cowardly terrorist attacks, mostly in KP and Balochistan, aimed at disrupting the electoral process, the soldiers remained resolute and effectively ensured peace and security across Pakistan.

It said gratitude is owed to other law enforcement agencies that worked hand in hand with the armed forces to safeguard the democratic process.

ISPR said the armed forces remain dedicated to upholding pea
ce and security in the country and stand ready to provide unwavering support in safeguarding the democratic traditions of our state.

ECP to ensure peaceful, transparent polls: Info Minister

Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi says Election Commission of Pakistan will ensure free, fair and transparent elections in a peaceful manner across the country.

In an interview to German broadcaster DW, he said that all registered political parties are being given equal opportunities for contesting the elections.

He said the caretaker government has shown full commitment to its mandate and role to assist the ECP in terms of security, and financial and administrative support.
