ECP establishes four counters for guidance of complainants

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established four counters for the guidance of complainants coming to Election Commission Secretariat for the registration of complaints regarding electoral objections.

A separate counter has been designated for each province. All these counters have been set up in front of the Commission’s building.

CM GB directs to ensure quality of Gilgit-Chitral Expressway project

Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan has directed concerned department to take all possible steps to ensure quality of Gilgit-Chitral Expressway project.

He was chairing a meeting to review progress of work on the project in Gilgit.

He said that the Expressway is an important project for tourism and economy in the region.

He said special steps will be taken to make payment of compensation for the land affected by the project as soon as possible.

Mohsin Naqvi inaugurates new office of Commissioner Lahore Division

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the new office of the Commissioner Lahore Division in Lahore today.

He inspected the new offices and said that Commissioner Office doors will remain open for the general public.

On this occasion, the caretaker Punjab CM was briefed about the beautification of the new building.

ECP conducted peaceful elections despite numerous challenges: Spokesperson

The Election Commission of Pakistan has conducted elections in a peaceful way despite numerous challenges.

The ECP Spokesman, in a statement today, said the EMS system installed for result preparation in the offices of Returning Officers worked satisfactorily.

The spokesman said EMS system was not dependent on connectivity that is why ROs couldn’t send electric data due to closure of cellular signals owing to security threats.

He said there was a mixed trend of results and no party benefited or suffered in any way in the areas where the election results were delayed.

The spokesman said despite challenges and difficulties the Election Commission of Pakistan was able to keep the election process peaceful and orderly on the polling day.

Pak-Iran relations to remain firm in all circumstances: Hassan Nourian

Consul General of Iran Hassan Nourian has said there are long-standing brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan which remained firm and friendly in all circumstances.

He was addressing a ceremony held at Consulate General of Iran in Karachi to mark the 45th National Day of Islamic republic of Iran.

He appreciated the joint efforts of both Pakistan and Iran to enhance their relations in political, economic, cultural, military, and other fields.

Roadmap made for promotion of digital economy: Umar Saif

Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif has said that a roadmap has been made for promotion of the digital economy for next government.

Addressing a meeting in Karachi, he said, the country can generate billions of dollars in revenue if the next government continues the initiatives taken by the caretaker government in the IT sector.

He said the SIFC forum has proven to be a great support for the upcoming elected government in the process of developing the country.

World Radio Day to be observed on Tuesday

World Radio Day will be observed on Tuesday across the globe including Pakistan to highlight the importance of Radio as a key medium of imparting education, provision of information and entrainment to people.

This year theme of World Radio Day is, Radio: A century informing, entertaining and educating.

To mark the Day, Radio Pakistan will broadcast special messages of the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Secretary Information and Director General Radio Pakistan along with special live programs to highlight the importance of Radio in the modern digital age.

In connection with the World Radio Day, a special ceremony will be held at Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Islamabad. Radio Pakistan will also broadcast a special seminar, featuring national broadcaster’s role in providing information, entertainment and education to people.
