Govt will continue its journey to take Pakistan on path of development: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said the government will continue its journey to take Pakistan on the path of development under the leadership of Imran Khan.

In a statement, he said the public meeting of the opposition parties in Swat has failed miserably as its leaders have nothing except lips servicing for the nation.

The Information Minister expressed his surprise over healthy Shehbaz Sharif’s participation in the meeting, who had been complaining of back pain in jail.

He said after the completion of five years term of the PTI government under Prime Minister Imran Khan, the people would get a better and brighter Pakistan.

CPEC has put Balochistan on path of progress, prosperity: Bajwa

Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Lt. Gen (Retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa says the CPEC has put Balochistan on the path of progress and prosperity.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of various development projects in Gwadar on Monday, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking keen interest in development CPEC projects.

Meanwhile in a video message, the Chairman CPEC Authority said work for Iran’s trade through Gwadar Port is in progress and it would start soon.

He said the Ramadan-Gabd crossing point near Gwadar is active and fully functional now. He said the fencing work of Pakistan-Iran border is going on rapidly and new border markets are being established at the crossing points.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said the smuggling to and from Iran is decreasing due to increase in regulated trade.

Indian intelligence agency RAW, subsidiaries involved in sabotage activities in Pakistan: Rashid

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that Indian intelligence agency RAW and its subsidiaries are involved in sabotage activities in Pakistan.

Talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Monday, he appreciated the security agencies for exposing the elements involved in Lahore incident. He said a group has also been arrested in Karachi.

The Interior Minister said NADRA will be purged of elements involved in issuing fake CNICs to the people. He said that nineteen people have already been suspended.

Sheikh Rashid said the entire nation is united on national security. He said the security institutions are fully prepared to fulfill their responsibilities.

The Interior Minister said the fencing of border with Afghanistan will soon be completed whilst that with Iran will also completed in a year time.

He said the entry at Chaman border is being linked with the electronic system.

The Interior Minister said that Pakistan desires peace in Afghanistan. He said peace in Afghanistan is linked with peace in Pakistan.

Pakistan Navy Ship Zulfiquar visits Tunis

Pakistan Navy Ship Zulfiquar with embarked helicopter visited Tunis as part of Pakistan Navy overseas deployment.

Upon arrival, ship was received by Tunisian Navy Ship and Patrol boats of Tunisian Coast Guard, Defence Attaché of Pakistan and Officials of Tunisian Navy.

During stay at port, Mission Commander Commodore Syed Rizwan Khalid along with Commanding Officer PNS ZULFIQUAR Captain Rao Ahmed Imran Anwar called on Commander National Coast guard Commander Jamal Aloui.

During the interaction, matters of mutual interest were discussed and contribution of Pakistan Navy to regional peace and maritime security were acknowledged.

Mission Commander also conveyed well wishes from Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Tunisia in general and Tunisian Navy and Coast Guard in particular.

The visit of PNS ZULFIQAR to Tunisia will go a long way in strengthening diplomatic relations, military ties and enhance cooperation between the two brotherly Muslim countries.

Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Naseer Khan Kashani briefed the envoys of different countries and the senior journalists about Gwadar Port Operations and expansion projects in Gwadar on Monday.

The briefing was attended by the Special Assistant on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill and the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Kenya, UAE and Qatar.

Rangers, police arrest three wanted criminals in Karachi

Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police carried out a joint operation in Landhi and Korangi areas of Karachi and arrested three most wanted motorcycle lifters.

According to the spokesman of Sindh Rangers, ten motorcycles and dozens of theft chassis were recovered from their possession. During the investigation, they confessed the stealing of motorcycles.

The spokesman said that arrested criminals have been handed over to police along with recovered motorcycles and chassis.

Meanwhile, Rangers has asked people to inform about any suspicious and illegal activity on Rangers helpline 1101 or to report on its WhatsApp number 0347-9001111 through call or message.

Judiciary committed to ensure rule of law: CJ LHC

Outgoing Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Qasim Khan says no one is above the constitution and judiciary is committed to ensure rule of law.

Addressing a full court reference held in his honor in Lahore today (Monday), he said the duty of judges is to deliver speedy justice.

He said that the Punjab Judicial Academy and District Judiciary have been modernized.

Prisoner Management Information System implemented in 21 jails of Punjab: Buzdar

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that multi-storey barracks are being constructed in the seven jails and Prisoner Management Information System has been implemented in 21 jails of the province.

He was talking to Punjab Minister for Prisons Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan who called on him in Lahore.

Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan told the chief minister that the Punjab government has introduced reforms in the prisons system aimed at protecting the basic rights of prisoners.

Meanwhile, talking to Punjab Minister for Finance Hashim Jawan Bakht, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that funds have been released by the Finance Department for the ongoing development schemes of the Annual Development Programme.

He said that the services of the Directorate General for Monitoring and Evaluation will be acquired for the quality and transparency checks in the projects besides ensuring third party audits.
