FM Qureshi discusses facilitation of evacuation of Pakistanis with Hungarian FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s perspective regarding peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

Talking to his Hungary’s counterpart Péter Szijjártó on telephone on Friday, he said Pakistan’s principled position on Ukraine issue is based on importance of a solution in accordance with relevant multilateral agreements, international law and principles of the UN Charter.

During the meeting, two Foreign Ministers discussed regional developments and Pakistan-Hungary bilateral relations.

Pakistan engaged in evacuating stranded Indian students in Ukraine

The Embassy of Pakistan in Ukraine is engaged in evacuating stranded Indian students following ongoing conflict with Russia.

According to reports, the Indian students reported that the officials of the Indian embassy are not present to provide them help.

However, Pakistan’s gesture of assisting the Indian students vindicates Islamabad’s stance that Pakistan is committed to promoting peace and stability in the region.

AFIC lauds Imran Khan over his initiative of interest-free loans for poor

Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) has lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan over his initiative of interest-free loans for the poor.

In a statement on twitter, President AFIC Dr Rateb Jneid said with the cost-of-living increasing post the pandemic, this is a great gift to give to families and businesses and it will help to strengthen economies.

Rateb Jneid said over 4.5 million families would benefit from the initiative to help set up small businesses.

He said the interest-free loans would also help the poor to acquire homes.

He said looking out for the poor and helping the weak and most vulnerable pockets of society is the example set by our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and all Prophets (AS) that came before him (PBUH).

On January 13, 2021, a vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (VDPV2) was identified by the Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio in Moscow, Russia* in a specimen from a patient with acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) in Jaloliddin Balkhi district, Khatlon Region, in Tajikistan. Paralysis onset occurred on November 22, 2020.
