Crurated Partners With More than 50 World Renowned European Winemakers to Raise Funds for Ukraine Relief Efforts

Coveted producers including Louis Roederer Cristal, Domaine Meo-Camuzet, and Domaine Dujac offer up lots of wine for auction with the initial pre-auction value at $100,000

Each bottle sold includes access to an exclusive NFT that verifies authenticity, ownership history, vintage, vineyard location, varietal, and more

LONDON, March 12, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The world’s top wine producers are responding to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine in an innovative way. Crurated, the London-based membership wine community designed to connect connoisseurs with world-class producers, has announced it is dedicating the week of March 14-20, 2022 for The All Heart Auction, an online event auctioning rare wines from world renowned producers to support humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian people. Selected producers donating wines for the auction include Louis Roederer Cristal, Domaine Meo-Camuzet, and Domaine Dujac among many others. The initial value of the more than 250 bottles of wine pre-auction totals $100,000. A full list of all producers participating is below.

Members and non-members alike are encouraged to participate and bid. Interested bidders are invited to register for an account at www.crurated.com. Non-members can sign-up for a free Explorer membership, allowing anyone to submit bids on the Crurated platform and participate in the fundraising event.

100% of the funds raised from the auction will be distributed to Red Cross, Save The Children, UNHCR, and UNICEF.

The team from Crurated has also developed a unique platform that offers clients an accompanying NFT with each purchase. Recorded forever on the blockchain, the NFT verifies authenticity of the bottle and provides other important details including ownership history, vintage, vineyard location, varietal, and other key details. The NFTs are easily accessible by tapping on an NFC or RFID enabled phone. The bottle history is also updated via a new blockchain recording anytime the wine is resold and the token moves from one client to another. The company uses Polygon technology for NFTs and blockchain.

“It has been amazing watching the world unite to help the people of Ukraine. Our auction initiative represents how I feel about wine and its ability to offer such a generous gift to the world,” said Alfonso de Gaetano, Founder of Crurated. “Our platform is also perfectly suited for this initiative because we automatically assign an NFT for every bottle that is brought into our warehouse and loaded onto the platform. We are anticipating an exciting auction with generous donors pitching in to help lessen the humanitarian crisis.”

“We have had a special link to Ukraine for more than 20 years and have sponsored a charitable event to help young dancers and their families in Lviv. We’ve also raised funds for the Lviv pediatric hospital,” said Jean-Nicolas & Nathalie Méo, of Meo-Camuzet. “Some of the children we had at home for summer vacation are probably old enough to be fighting now, and we dread the thought of their involvement in this war. We hope that the very special wines we have donated for the auction will receive an appropriate welcome and help support the needs of the Ukrainian civilians.”

Other world-class winemakers participating in the auction include: Larmandier-Bernier, Pascal Agrapart, Pierre Péters, Suenen, Bérêche & Fils, Doyard, Moussé Fils, Salon, Vilmart & Cie, Billecart-Salmon, Geoffroy, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Caroline Colin-Morey, Robert Groffier, Père & Fils, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Caroline Colin-Morey, Robert Groffier Père & Fils, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, Arnaud Baillot, Duroché, Fourrier, Denis Mortet, Dujac, Chateau Pavie, Tenuta Sette Ponti, Ceretto, Massolino, Poderi Aldo Conterno, Grattamacco, Casanova di Neri, Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona, Bartolo Mascarello, Biondi Santi, Argiano, Mascarello Giuseppe e Figlio, Il Marroneto, Giacomo Conterno, Montevertine, Tenuta di Trinoro, Elio Altare, Fontanafredda, Borgogno, and Roberto Voerzio.

Pakistan calls upon int’l community to take serious notice of Indian missile incident

Pakistan has called upon the international community to take serious notice of Indian missile incident and play its due role in promoting strategic stability in the region.

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said the whole incident indicates many loopholes and technical lapses of serious nature in Indian handling of strategic weapons.

He said Indian decision to hold an internal court of inquiry is not sufficient since the missile ended up in Pakistani territory.

The Spokesperson said Pakistan demands a joint probe to accurately establish the facts surrounding the incident. He said given the short distances and response times, any misinterpretation by the other side could lead to counter measures in self-defence with grave consequences.

Asim Iftikhar said grave nature of the incident raises several fundamental questions regarding security protocols and technical safeguards against accidental or unauthorized launch of missiles in a nuclearized environment.

The spokesperson said India must explain the measures and procedures in place to prevent accidental missile launches and the particular circumstances of this incident.

He said India needs to clearly explain the type and specifications of the missile that fell in Pakistani territory.

Asim Iftikhar asked India to explain the flight path of the accidently launched missile and how it ultimately turned and entered into Pakistan. He asked was the missile equipped with self-destruct mechanism and why did it fail to actualize.

The spokesperson said why India failed to immediately inform Pakistan about accidental launch of the missile and waited to acknowledge till after Pakistan announced the incident and sought clarification.

He said given the profound level of incompetence, India needs to explain if the missile was indeed handled by its armed forces or some rogue elements.

The procurement of smart printers according to the number of wardens in each district is underway, as directed by the DIG Traffic.

Intel to Launch the World’s First 16 Core Processor for Laptops

Intel has been quietly working on the world’s first 16-core processor for laptops. The flagship Core i9-12900HX mobility CPU will rank among the world’s fastest laptop chips and it has just made an appearance at the Geekbench database with its first benchmarks.

According to Geekbench, the upcoming Core i9-12900HX will have 16 cores based on an 8 + 8 configuration. It will debut with Lenovo’s 82TD laptop, which should be a powerhouse when it comes to gaming, rendering, and other taxing tasks.

AMD already has 16 core processors for laptops, but those are based on desktop parts rather than mobile chips.

The 12th Gen Adler Lake HX series processor will be packaged with the BGA format and it is expected to be the full desktop die optimized for performance and efficiency on laptops. It will also offer a 14% increase in core and a 20% increase in the thread count compared to the Core i9-12900HK. Compared to the Core i9-12900H, it is going to be at least 10% faster as per Geekbench results.

The base clock on this processor will be 2.5 GHz with a boost clock as high as 4.89 GHz. Some reports say that it will hit a 5.0GHz boost clock upon official release. Its TDP will be 55W and the GPU will have up to 32 Xe-LP cores, which is much lower than the desktop variant.

It will be paired with Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti on Lenovo’s new laptop, which is currently the most efficient mobile graphics card on the market. There is currently no word on a launch date, but we will update this space as soon as there is more information.

Schemes Operators to Develop QR Codes System for Pakistan

Payment operators will play a major role to provide a platform to merchants and consumers using QR code payment systems in Pakistan including Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, 1-link/IBFT, Raast, etc.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), these scheme operators have developed systems and rules, and serve as a platform to enable QR codes as a payment mechanism to their participants (acquirers and issuers).

The scheme operators shall devise the format of MAI and share it with the scheme participants. SBP will issue Bank Identification Codes (BICs) to the acquirers and issuers of the scheme. The scheme operator shall also devise the items to be used under Scheme Specific Data objects for the scheme’s acquirers and issuers (if needed).

The scheme operator shall establish, maintain and operate the scheme through well-defined system/business rules, fraud management, consumer protection, dispute resolution mechanisms, etc.

Acquirers and Issuers

The acquirers could be classified as an entity that onboards the merchant including Banks, MFBs, EMIs, etc. On the other hand, The entity provides the mobile app/online portal or any other instrument to the customer(s) to process the QR Code.

It is pertinent to mention that the State Bank of Pakistan has issued standards for Quick Response (QR) code-based payments in Pakistan in order to accelerate the digitization of retail payments.

According to SBP documents, the standard is being issued to facilitate fund transfer transactions from one person to another in a convenient manner. This standard is applicable to all Banks, MFBs, EMIs, and PSO/PSPs in the country that are offering or desirous to offer QR codes as a mechanism for merchant payments to their customers.

The acquirers will start to generate QR codes for newly onboarded merchants and replace existing QR Codes in compliance with this standard not later than 30th June 2022.

The objective of issuing this QR Standard is to create an enabling environment for enhancing the availability and usage of low-cost acceptance points(ie. QR Codes) for the establishment of a cash-lite society.

One of the objectives of this standard is to harmonize the practices of QR Code placement at merchant locations. While devising a country-wide standard for QR codes, the possible scenarios in terms of QR generation and placement may be kept in mind at the time of merchant onboarding. The idea is to introduce interoperability of QR codes at the merchant level using a multi-scheme QR template as described earlier.
