Increase in remittances shows confidence of overseas Pakistanis: Farrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib says increase in annual remittances from eighteen billion to thirty billion dollars shows confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Addressing three-day overseas Pakistanis convention in Islamabad on Sunday, he said overseas Pakistanis have always supported Imran Khan and PTI. He said they have been a source of PTI’s fund.

The Minister of State said overseas Pakistanis played a pivotal role in making Imran Khan as Prime Minister of Pakistan.

He said incumbent government has legislated for giving voting right to overseas Pakistanis.

Farrukh Habib said Prime Minister Imran Khan has improved image of Pakistan and increased value of green passport.

He said Imran Khan leading Pakistan with an independent foreign policy. He said Imran Khan has always raised voice for peace and against wars.

He said all initiatives by the government aims at providing relief to the poor class of the society.

In his remarks, Adviser on Overseas Pakistanis Muhammad Ayub Afridi said government will introduce E-gate system to facilitate overseas Pakistanis at the time of their arrival in Pakistan.

Addressing three-day overseas convention in Islamabad on Sunday, he said government is also taking steps to introduce online facilities in Pakistan’s embassies abroad. He said with online services overseas Pakistanis will be able to obtain visas and NICOPs without visiting the embassy.

He said Roshan Digital Account has enabled overseas Pakistanis to open their bank accounts in Pakistan.

The Adviser urged the overseas Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan and take advantage of business friendly initiatives of the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan said PTI government will complete its tenure and will be elected again for second term.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has led the nation successfully in crises like COVID-19 and poor economy.

He said in previous governments around 800 drone strikes were carried out by US in Pakistan but Imran Khan did not allow this.

The Adviser congratulated overseas Pakistanis for getting right to vote.

He said we will overcome the no-confidence movement against Prime Minister Imran Khan with the help of law and constitution.

News desk of daily ‘Jang’ developed fake story about PTI’s MPs: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said the news desk of the daily ‘Jang’ had developed a fake story about the defection of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Members of Parliament (MPs).

In a tweet, he said a couple of days ago, the newspaper falsely reported that some 33 members of the PTI had defected which carried names of Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak and Riaz Fatyana.

When these members sought an explanation from the reporter, it was learnt that the fake story with a list of defected members was not filed by him; rather it was developed on the news desk.

Govt will not allow any militia to take law in its hands: Rashid

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says government will not allow any militia to take law in its hands.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Sunday, he urged the opposition to avoid bitterness in politics.

The Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan will get more strength till Tuesday. He said Speaker National Assembly will decide about the summoning of session.

Talking about facilities provided to women in Islamabad, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said government has already set up bazar for women and it is ready to provide a place for another one. He said working women from Sindh, KP and Balochistan should also be promoted.

Azam Swati stresses proper mechanism of pension disbursement in railways

Pakistan Railways Minister Azam Khan Swati has stressed a proper mechanism of pension disbursement to facilitate pensioners of the department.

Rejecting a news item, telecast by a local channel on Sunday, a spokesperson for Railways regretted creation of a wrong perception about Railways and its minister among people by the channel.

He clarified that the PR was working on distribution of pensions directly through the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) to the accounts of the pensioners.

He said the minister had written a letter to the finance minister requesting that the federal government might take over the responsibility of the railways pensioners to enable them to draw their pensions from their own bank accounts without going to any other office.

Pakistan Navy conducts successful weapon firing in North Arabian Sea

Pakistan Navy demonstrated live weapon firings of anti-ship missiles and torpedoes in North Arabian Sea on Sunday.

Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi witnessed the live weapons firings along with senior officers from Tri-services.

During the fire power demonstration, Pakistan Navy ship, aircraft and submarine successfully hit their intended targets and reaffirmed Navy’s war fighting capability and combat potential.

Speaking on the occasion, the Naval Chief expressed his entire satisfaction on the operational readiness of Pakistan Navy and its preparedness to defend the national maritime interests. He said Pakistan Navy stands fully prepared to tackle threats across entire spectrum of warfare.

Arrangements for 48th meeting of OIC Council of FMs finalized

Arrangements for the 48th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers have been finalized.

This was briefed to Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi while chairing a high level meeting regarding arrangements for the 48th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, in Islamabad today [Sunday].

The meeting was attended by Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, Special Foreign Secretary Raza Bashir Tarar, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar and other senior Foreign Ministry officials.

The heads of various committees of the Foreign Ministry gave a detailed briefing to the Foreign Minister on the arrangements for the 48th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

Addressing the meeting, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said it is a great honour for Pakistan to host the 48th OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting after the successful convening of the extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

He said Pakistan is once again becoming the focus of global attention in terms of diplomacy.

The Foreign Minister thanked all the participants and directed that no minute should be spared in completing the arrangements of the meeting in an efficient manner.

PTI govt to complete unprecedented development projects in country’s history: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the PTI Government will complete unprecedented development projects in the country’s history, before completion of its current five years term.

Addressing a public gathering at Hafizabad on Sunday, he said justice, humanity and self-reliance are fundamental principles of the state. He said youth is the future of our nation and all measures are being taken for their progress.

Imran Khan said Rehmat ulil Aalamin (PBUH) Authority was formed to guide the nation to the right path through research in educational institutions to educate our children about Sunnah-e- Rasool (PBUH).

He said the nations that deviate from their ideology are ruined. Prime Minister said as per Allama Iqbal’s vision, the ideology behind creation of Pakistan was following Sunnah e Rasool PBUH, and Almighty Allah asks us to follow Sunnah-e- Rasool PBUH.

The Prime Minister said he has been preaching the nation for twenty five years to hold corrupt people accountable, and to unite the entire nation.

He said for the first time in the country’s history, single national syllabus has been introduced to educate all children through same curriculum.

Imran Khan said religious seminaries are also being brought under this syllabus and students of madrassas will also be taught English.

Prime Minister said scholar ships to the students are being disbursed through transparent process.

He said under Riasat-e-Madina vision, health cards are being provided to people to get medical care up to one million in high standard government and private hospitals.

Prime Minister said under the Panah-Gah project, homeless people and labourers are provided shelter and the project will be expanded to all parts of the country.

He said for the Kamyab Pakistan project, interest free loans up to two million rupees are being given and under Naya Pakistan Housing projects, houses are being built for which banks are providing loans worth sixty billion rupees.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan wants to have a better relationship with every country in the world, however we will never compromise on our national interests.

He said European Union Ambassadors wrote a letter to issue a statement against the Russian attack on Ukraine, which was against diplomatic norms and our national sovereignty. He said the Opposition leaders objected to my raising voice against that.

Imran Khan said it is my responsibility to save my country, hence I will not allow such a foreign policy to damage our own national interest.

The Prime Minister said all thieves are getting united as they fear accountability. He said consciences are being bought with looted money.
