Pakistan committed to establish peace in world through strategic partnerships: Quershi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Pakistan is committed to establish peace in the world through strategic partnerships.

Addressing a consultative meeting with former Foreign Secretaries in Islamabad, he said Pakistan seeks to resolve all disputes, including Ukraine diplomatically in the light of UN Charter and international law.

The meeting discussed the regional peace and security situation in detail.

The Foreign Minister briefed the meeting about his telephonic conversation with his counterparts of Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Poland.

President urges Ulema to promote Islamic moral values

President Dr Arif Alvi has called upon Ulema to play their role to discourage the phenomenon of fake news and promote Islamic moral values, including tolerance, among people to create peace and harmony in the society.

Addressing the Paigham-e-Pakistan Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, he said the fake news termite the Muslim societies.

The President said incidents like Peshawar and Sialkot were part of a conspiracy to fan sectarianism in the country.

He said there is no room for mob justice in Islam.

President Alvi advised the Ulema to highlight the importance of human rights instead of indulging in petty differences.

PM directs utilization of all available resources for provision of low cost houses

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed concerned officials to utilize all available resources for provision of low cost houses to the people.

He was talking to Minister for Housing Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.

They discussed issues related to overall political situation in the country.

The Minister for Housing briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the project to build low cost houses for the middle and low income class in the country.

Pakistan urges world to hold India accountable for crimes in IIOJ&K

Pakistan has urged international community to hold India accountable for the serious crimes being committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

In a statement on Tuesday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said we express our solidarity with the oppressed women of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said women in the occupied territory have been enduring egregious human rights abuse including sexual violence, rape and molestation for over seven decades. He said these crimes have been extensively documented by the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and various UN Special Procedures Mandate Holders.
