Three-day overseas convention being organized in Islamabad from Sunday: Farrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that a three-day overseas convention is being organized in Islamabad from Sunday to recognize the services of expatriate Pakistanis for the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said overseas Pakistanis from twenty five countries have arrived to attend the convention.

The Minister of State said remittances which used to be eighteen billion dollars in the past regime now stand over thirty billion dollars.

He said the present government has given right of franchise to overseas Pakistanis besides taking other steps to facilitate them. He said over 3.5 billion dollars have so far been received in Roshan Digital Account. He said the Roshan Digital Account holders have also been given facility to get loans from banks for construction of houses in the country.

Commenting on the political situation, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting said the no confidence motion moved by the opposition parties against Prime Minister Imran Khan will face defeat.

He was confident that the allied parties stand by the government. He said we have always took along the allied parties.

Farrukh Habib said the government is pursuing a sovereign foreign policy.
