COAS, Chinese FM discuss measures to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and measures to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that Pakistan-China relationship is based on convergence of views and mutual respect.

Appreciating professionalism of Pakistan Army, Wang Yi said that world should acknowledge Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and stability. He appreciated security provided to CPEC and said that China believes in inclusive prosperity.

Referring to 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, General Bajwa termed it a historic development for addressing the dire humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and bringing international community to a shared vision and joint strategy to find solution to emerging challenges in the region vital for peace and stability.

He also thanked the Foreign Minister for his visit and continued Chinese support to Pakistan.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role regional stability and pledged to play his role for further improvements in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels. He specially appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for hosting 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

President reiterates resolve to take Pakistan to heights of glory as envisioned by our forefathers

President Dr. Arif Alvi reiterated resolve to take Pakistan to the heights of glory as envisioned by our forefathers.

Addressing the parade ceremony, the President emphasized need for national unity to face the challenges confronting Pakistan and highlighted the responsible role played by the country for peace and security in the region.

The President warned India to stop its persecution campaign in occupied Kashmir as the freedom movements cannot be suppressed through the use of brute force.

Paying tribute to security forces for restoring peace in the country, the President stressed that we need to remain steadfast in our fight against terrorists so that these elements do not regroup again.

Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi observed Pakistan Day with national zeal

Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi observed Pakistan Day with national zeal and patriotic spirit today (Wednesday).

Chargé d’Affaires Aftab Hassan Khan raised Pakistan’s flag to the tune of national anthem at an elegant flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Chancery’s Lawns.

Officers and staff of the High Commission along with their families were present on the occasion.

Messages of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out to the audience.

Extending warm felicitations on Pakistan national day, the Chargé d’Affaires paid rich tributes to the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other national leaders of Pakistan movement, who with their unswerving resolve and relentless efforts created a separate homeland for the Muslims of Sub-Continent.

The Cd’A highlighted that Pakistan is playing a dignified role as a responsible democratic state in the comity of nations. The holding of 48th meeting of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad, is a clear manifestation of Pakistan’s pivotal role in the Islamic World.
