Bizenjo directs to crackdown against wheat hoarders

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has directed concerned sectors to crackdown on wheat hoarders and wholesalers with an aim to control the shortage of wheat for the provision of facilities to people in the province.

He said that the administration of all the districts should be mobilized and action should be taken against those who store wheat and sell food items at higher prices.

The CM said that a special team should be formed for taking action against wheat hoarders and to submit a report of the action to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

The District Administration said that in the light of the instructions of the Chief Minister, the operations of special teams are underway in the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Quetta in various parts of the city.

PM announces to confer civil awards to martyred Naveed Sadiq, Nasir Abbas

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced conferring Hilal-e-Shujaat upon ISI Director Naveed Sadiq Shaheed and Sitara-e-Shujaat upon Inspector Nasir Abbas Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom in firing by terrorists.

The Prime Minister, made this announcement during his visit to the residence of martyred ISI Director Naveed Sadiq in Islamabad on Friday. He met with the wife, son, and the daughter of the martyred director of the ISI and commiserated with them. He also offered fateha for the departed soul. He said the entire nation is proud of Naveed Sadiq Shaheed and Nasir Abbas Shaheed.

Paying tribute to martyrs, Shehbaz Sharif said they rendered unforgettable sacrifices for the security and defence of the country. He said Naveed Sadiq demonstrated exemplary services for the eradication of terrorism.

Three killed in Multan road accident

In Multan, three people of a same family were killed and two others got injured when a car collided with a truck near head Muhammad Wala on Friday.

According to Rescue 1122, dense fog and poor visibility caused the accident.

Two injured children have been admitted in Nishter hospital Multan. The car riding family was on way to Rahim Yar Khan from Kot Addu.

Afghanistan signs oil extraction deal with Chinese company

Afghanistan’s Taliban-led Interim Government has signed a contract with a Chinese company to extract oil from the Amu Darya basin and develop an oil reserve in the country’s northern Sar-e Pul province.

According to state-run Bakhtar News Agency, the contract was signed by acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar and an official of Xinjiang Central Asia Petroleum and Gas Co in a ceremony in Kabul.

IMF reiterates its commitment to help Pakistan in difficult time

Managing Director International Monetary Fund Ms Kristalina Georgieva called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif over telephone and reiterated her commitment to help Pakistan in the difficult period.

She also expressed her deep sympathy and concern on the human and material losses due to the recent floods.

The Prime Minister thanked the Managing Director for her concern on the fallout of the floods and extended invitation to the MD IMF to participate in the Climate Resilient Pakistan Conference at Geneva.

The M.D. IMF thanked the Prime Minister for the invitation but explained that as the IMF Board meetings had been prefixed for Monday and Tuesday, she will only be able to join the conference virtually.

The Prime Minister assured the MD IMF that Pakistan is committed to successfully completing the ongoing IMF programme and thanked the Ms Kristalina Georgieva for her understanding and empathy of the challenges that Pakistan has been facing.
