APHC urges world to play due role in resolving Kashmir dispute

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah has called upon the international community to play its due role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with the UN Security Council resolutions.

In his message from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail, he said it is the responsibility of the United Nations and all world major powers to avert the ongoing genocide of the Kashmiri people at the hands of brutal Indian forces.

Other APHC leaders including Moulvi Bashir Irfani, Devinder Singh Bahl and Ghulam Nabi War in their statements in Srinagar and Jammu said that non-implementation of the January 5, 1949 resolution on Kashmir continues to mock the credibility of the international community, particularly the United Nations.

The leaders deplored that Kashmiri youth are being martyred in fake encounters on a daily basis, but the world remains blithely unmoved.

On the other hand, posters with pictures of illegally detained and martyred Hurriyat leaders have appeared in Srinagar and other areas, urging the United Nations to implement its 5th January 1949 resolution on Kashmir.

The posters were displayed by several pro-freedom organizations.

Meanwhile, Indian troops, today, intensified cordon and search operations in Dangri village of Rajouri district after the killing of four persons and injuries to nine others in the area, last night.

Two more persons including a child were killed and five others injured in another incident of bomb explosion in the area, today.

The killing led to a complete shutdown in Rajouri town, today. People along with the bodies of those killed gathered at Dangri chowk, blocked roads and raised slogans against the Modi regime for its failure in protecting Kashmiris’ lives.

President urges Overseas Pakistanis to highlight HR violations in IIOJK

President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged Overseas Pakistanis to highlight the human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the persecution of minorities in India in their host countries.

Talking to a delegation of eminent UK and US-based Pakistani expatriates in Islamabad on Monday, he said the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is one of the oldest but unresolved agendas still waiting for implementation of several UN Security Council resolutions, which is unfortunate.

The President said the Overseas Pakistanis has a duty to highlight the atrocities being committed by the Indian Security Forces against the innocent Kashmiris to muffle their demand for the right to self-determination which was promised to them under various UN Security Council resolutions. He said images of the innocent Kashmiris brutalized by the heartless Indian Security Forces should be widely circulated in the international media to build pressure on India to resolve the long-outstanding dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.

The President said religious extremism is on the rise in India and the majority Hindutva-inspired Hindu population is being pitched against all religious or ethnic minorities of the country. He said that minorities were being discriminated against, harassed, victimized, and intimidated across India on the basis of their religion. He said minorities, especially Muslims, are even afraid to call their relatives elsewhere because of the fear of victimization by the Indian Security Forces.

Arif Alvi said the overseas Pakistanis should maintain close and strong connections with the people of the areas of their origin and play their role to improve the country’s image.

The President termed the Pakistani diaspora around the world a great asset . He said the overseas Pakistanis should invest their knowledge, intellect and expertise to create enabling conditions in Pakistan to retain its precious educated and high-quality human resource which are direly needed for Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

The President said although Pakistan is facing difficult economic and financial situation but they are surmountable.

ECP announces to hold polling on Senate’s vacant seat on 25 Jan

Election Commission of Pakistan has announced polling for a vacant Senate seat on 25th of this month.

It is pertinent to mention that the Senate seat fell vacant after the resignation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Vawda.

The election will be held in Sindh Assembly building.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Shabbir Ahmed Shah has urged the international community to play its due role in resolving the Kashmir dispute under the UN Security Council resolutions.

In his new year’s message from Tihar Jail, he said Kashmir is one of the oldest unresolved disputes and for 75 years Kashmiris have been braving the brunt of India’s prolonged military occupation.

The APHC leader said it was quite unfortunate that Kashmiris are being victimized for demanding the implementation of the UN resolutions that guaranteed them the right to self-determination.

Govt setting up separate directorate to handle affairs of all private schools: Azam

Education Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Muhammad Azam Khan says services of private schools cannot be forgotten in terms of improving quality of education throughout the region.

Addressing the annual examination results and prize distribution ceremony of a private public school in Basin, he said the Government is setting up a separate directorate to handle the affairs of all private schools.
