PDMA issues alert about rains, snowfall in different parts of KP from today

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert about rains and snowfall in different parts of the province from today till Sunday.

According to PDMA, all Deputy Commissioners have been advised to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses during the forecast period.

The control room of PDMA is operational round the clock and people can contact by dialing 1700 in case of any emergency.

Sindh CM declares rain emergency in province

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared a rain emergency in the province.

Chairing a meeting in Karachi today, provincial Chief Minister directed the concerned to remain high alert in wake of heavy rain forecast in the province.

It was decided in the meeting that there will be half day duty in all public and private sector educational institutions in Karachi tomorrow.

Govt providing conducive environment to foreign investors in province: KP Governor

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali says the government is providing a conducive environment to foreign investors in the province.

He was talking to a delegation of the German Association for Small and Medium Enterprises in Peshawar today.

The German delegation expressed its willingness for investment in minerals, mining, tourism, sports and human development sectors.

The delegation also agreed to establish a medical institution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under a joint venture.

Anti-polio campaign to begin in KP from Sunday

A week-long anti-polio campaign will begin in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Sunday.

According to Emergency Operation Center Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during the campaign more than seven million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops.

About twenty-eight thousand teams have been constituted which will visit door to door to ensure administering anti-polio vaccine to each and every child.

During the campaign, strict security measures have been taken for the security of the polio teams.

Meanwhile, a five-day anti-polio campaign is underway in Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) begins in Sehwan Sharif

A three-day Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar began in Sehwan Sharif today.

Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Tessori while inaugurating the ceremonies paid rich tribute to the Sufi saint.

He said that the Sindh is blessed by great Sufi saints like Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, who preached the message of love, peace and affection and there is a need to spread this message of humanity and tolerance.

Punjab CM reviews construction work on Ring Road, Dadhocha Dam Rawalpindi

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the site of Ring Road in Rawalpindi today and reviewed construction work on the project.

During the visit, she was given a detailed briefing about the ongoing work on the project.

The Chief Minister was informed that construction work on different sections of the project is underway rapidly and it will be completed within its stipulated time of December 2024.

Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that quality of work on this project would not be compromised at all. She said the provincial government will ensure provision of funds to complete this mega project timely.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz also visited Dadhocha Dam in the suburb of Rawalpindi today to inspect the ongoing work on the project.

Speaking on the occasion, she instructed the authorities concerned to complete the project within minimum possible time.

The Chief Minister was briefed that the project costing seven billion rupees will help overcome the water shortage in Rawalpindi.

It was further
informed that the dam would provide clean water to the residents of Rawalpindi and adjoining areas.

PSX witnesses bullish trend today

The Pakistan Stock Exchange was bullish today.

The KSE-100 Index closed today at 64,578.52 points as compared to 63,703.45 points on the last working day with a positive change of 875.07 points.

The total turnover was 424,043,562 as compared to 461,390,885 on the last working day with K-Electric Ltd. having the highest turnover of 54,958,235.

A total of 364 companies’ transacted shares in the Stock Market today, out of which 188 recorded gains and 161 sustained losses whereas the share price of 15 companies remained unchanged.

Pakistan Services Ltd. recorded the maximum increase in its share price, which was 52.18 rupees while Bata Pakistan Ltd. recorded the maximum decrease that was 33.00 rupees.
