PM meets Aimal Wali, condoles over death of his mother

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of President Awami National Party, Asfandyar Wali Khan in Charsadda on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister met with Aimal Wali Khan and offered fateha for the departed soul of his mother and wife of Asfandyar Wali Khan.

Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif, Amir Muqam, ANP leaders Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, and Ikhtiar Wali were also present on the occasion.

ECP announces schedule for by-elections on 23 seats of NA, four provincial assemblies

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced schedule for by-elections on twenty-three seats of National Assembly and four provincial assemblies.

According to the schedule issued by the election commission today, polling will be held on the 21st of next month.

The candidates can file their nomination papers with the returning officers from the 16th to the 18th of this month. 21st of this month has been fixed as the last date for scrutiny of nomination papers.

The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by 29th of this month. On the same day, the revised list of candidates will be issued.

The by elections will be held on six seats of National Assembly, twelve seats of Punjab Assembly, two seats each of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan Assemblies and one seat of Sindh Assembly.

These seats became vacant under Articles 43(2), 223(3) and (4) of the constitution as well as due to the death of contesting and returned candidates.

CM Punjab directs to ensure delivery of medicines to patients at their doorsteps

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to ensure delivery of medicines to patients at their doorsteps as soon as possible.

Chairing a meeting on Health related projects and reforms in Lahore today, she directed to ensure the prompt operationalization of the field hospitals and clinics-on wheel project.

The Chief Minister ordered strict legal action against corrupt mafias in government hospitals.

She gave orders for the construction, repair, and upgrading of all rural health centers, as well as the upgradation of over two thousand Basic Health Units and three hundred Rural Health Centres throughout the province this year.

It was also decided to build Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha on land adjacent to DHQ hospital.

CM Punjab approves celebration of Baisakhi Mela in Punjab next month

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the celebration of Basiakhi Mela in Punjab.

Presiding over a meeting on the promotion of tourism in the province in Lahore today, the Chief Minister called for a comprehensive “Punjab Tourism Plan” within seven days and directed the mapping of tourist sites across the province.

She also directed the mapping of places for religious tourism in Punjab and the identification of holy places for Sikh pilgrims, along with a plan for their development.

She said that the goal of making Punjab a tourism hub would be achieved within five years.

Khawaja Asif assumes charge as Minister for Defence, Defence Production

Minister for Defence and Defence Production Khawaja Muhammad Asif assumed charge of his office today.

Defence Minister was received by Secretary Defence, Hamood uz Zaman Khan.

The Minister was briefed about the role and functions of Ministries and itss.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Defence said that the government would provide maximum support to cater for the needs of Armed Forces.

PM, Awais Leghari discuss Railways’ issues

Minister for Railways Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Railways Minister on assuming office and expressed his best wishes.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the Minister will play his full role in making Pakistan Railways successful.

They also held detailed discussion on Pakistan Railways issues.

ECP to issue election schedule for 48 Senate seats tomorrow

Election Commission of Pakistan will issue the election schedule for 48 seats of Senate tomorrow.

Nomination papers can be submitted with the relevant returning officers on Friday and Saturday.

Nomination papers are available from the Election Commission Secretariat Islamabad as well as the provincial elections commissioners of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Polling for 48 Senate seats will be held on the second of next month.
